The Weeknd’s Fans Support His Decision To Stop Submitting Music To GRAMMYs
Back in November, The Weeknd received some shocking news as he didn’t receive any Grammy nominations for their 2021 awards show. This is even after having the biggest year out of any artists in the world. The Canadian superstar had a chart-topping album with “After Hours” and also had two singles hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.” Weeknd went on to call the GRAMMYs “corrupt” and that he and his fans deserve transparency.
The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…

The Weeknd Won’t Submit Music For Grammy Consideration Anymore After Nomination Snubs
The Weeknd doesn’t appear to be over the shocking Grammy snubs now, either. In a statement to New York Times, he doesn’t plan to submit music to the GRAMMYs again after this latest scandal. He even believes that the awards show has “secret committees.” Therefore, his XO record label will have no more involvement with the GRAMMYs moving forward.
“Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,” said The Weeknd.
The Weeknd Appeared To Be Over Grammy Snubs Two Months Ago
In a cover story for Billboard in January with his XO crew, The Weeknd seemed much more unbothered by these Grammy snubs. He explained how he already has three GRAMMYs and how he “sucks at giving speeches anway.”
“Look, I personally don’t care anymore. I have three Grammys, which mean nothing to me now, obviously. It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want the Grammy!’ It’s just that this happened, and I’m down to get in front of the fire, as long as it never happens again. I suck at giving speeches anyways. Forget awards shows.”
Supporters Have The Weeknd’s Back
When this statement to the NYT surfaced on social media on Thursday, The Weeknd‘s fans supported him to the fullest. They came out explaining how he doesn’t need the GRAMMYs and is already one of the best artists in the world. They also aren’t surprised at all that The Weeknd is boycotting the awards show as they still can’t believe that he’s not nominated at all in 2021.
I STILL can’t get over how the Weeknd got zero nominations for his last album and am not surprised in the slightest that he is boycotting the Grammys

The Weeknd Has Been Making History With His Music Lately
The Weeknd definitely seems to not need Grammy validation at all based on the success he’s been having lately. His “Blinding Lights” single has now become the first song to spend a year in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Weeknd also received six new platinum certifications from the RIAA this week. Blinding Lights is now 7x platinum, the self-titled “After Hours” song is platinum, “In Your Eyes” and “Save Your Tears” are platinum for the first time, and the “Heartless” single and “After Hours” album are both 2x platinum.
