Shannon Beador's Ex John Janssen Doubles Down On Promissory Fraud Lawsuit, Demands Punitive Damages

The legal drama between Shannon Beador and her ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, is not ending soon with more arguments. 

The former couple have been going head to head since Janssen filed a promissory fraud lawsuit against the "Real Housewives of Orange County" star. Now, he is fighting against her petition to dismiss his claims.

Shannon Beador's falling out with her ex has been making waves for months, primarily because of John Janssen's relationship with "RHOC" co-star Alexis Bellino.

According to court documents, Janssen recently fired back at Beador's attempts to remove his promissory fraud claims. She also requested for his demands for punitive damages and attorney fees tobe dismissed.

In her filing, Beador's legal team argued that Janssen failed to present enough evidence to back up his fraud claims and was, therefore, not entitled to monetary compensation. However, Janssen's attorney refuted their arguments, stressing:

"Mr. Janssen's request for punitive damages is warranted by the facts and claims alleged in the [complaint], which sufficiently allege malice and fraud by alleging that [Shannon] acted with the intent to induce Mr. Janssen to rely on her misrepresentations to defraud Mr. Janssen."

Janssen's lawyer claimed Beador deceived her ex into loaning her money that she never intended to repay." The attorney claimed her "fraudulent intent is further evidenced by her continued assurances to Mr. Janssen that she would repay the loans," per In Touch.

In their rebuttal, Janssen's legal rep slammed Beador's alleged move to dismiss the loans as something given freely. They argued that "her recent attempt to characterize the loans — for the very first time — as 'gifts'" was proof of her fraudulent behavior. 

This isn't the first time Janssen and his attorney have addressed Beador's claims that the money he allegedly loaned her was a "gift." Days after she dropped the statement, her ex's lawyer said:

"[Shannon] knew when she made her false promises and representations that [Shannon] did not intend to pay for such services. Despite promising to repay both Loans, [Shannon's] subsequent actions have made clear that [Shannon's] promises were fabricated."

"She never intended to follow through on her promises. For example, in an attempt to avoid her obligations to repay the Loans, [Shannon] now asserts that the Loans were a 'gift' from Mr. Janssen, which is completely false," Janssen's attorney claimed.

As reported by The Blast, the drama between Beador and Janssen began earlier this year when he filed a promissory fraud lawsuit at the Orange County Superior Court.

Janssen alleged he loaned Beador $75,000 for a facelift, claiming she borrowed the sum twice in 2022. According to his recollection, she first collected $40,000 on January 23 and $35,000 on May 20.

He claimed she agreed to repay the sum with interest but repeatedly failed to compensate it despite multiple requests in 2023 and 2024. However, Beador refuted his claims on SiriusXM's "Jeff Lewis Live" in April.

Although Janssen claimed Beador refused to cough up the loans, she alleged he refused to accept her payments. According to the reality TV star, she offered to pay her ex the sum he wanted, but he turned down the deal.

Beador claimed he refused to receive the payments "because he didn't want to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement." She noted she wanted the NDA to stop Janssen from smearing her name, saying:

"What am I supposed to do? Say, 'Here's all this money that you claim that I owe you, and go ahead. Say whatever you want about me.' No."

"My attorney said I can't let you do that, so I have to now go to trial, and, you know, that's a lot," Beador added, stressing that she would fight Janssen in court despite it being a costly battle.

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that Beador clashed with her ex-boyfriend's new flame, Alexis Bellino, on season 18 of the "RHOC" show. The women traded insults over their tumultuous love triangle with Janssen.

"I'm not asking to be best buddies. I know this is uncomfortable for both of us when you're the ex, and I'm the new," Bellino retorted after Beador declared she wanted nothing to do with her.

The back and forth between them continued, with Beador yelling: "You know what, take John Janssen, and I thank you for taking him from me!" However, Bellino replied: "And I'm thankful that he left you."

Shannon Beador may be over John Janssen; however, she cannot remove the stain of being dumped by him. How will the former couple's rocky dynamic play out in court? Only time will tell.
