The drama between Jennifer Aniston and J.D. Vance continues with new comments from the republican running VP.
Donald Trump's running mate recently responded to the "Friends" star's reaction to his "childless" women remark, calling her out for dragging his daughter into the spotlight.
Although J.D. Vance did not direct his initial criticisms at Jennifer Aniston, his words hit too close to home for the actress, given her fertility struggles.
J.D. Vance Responds To Jennifer Aniston's Criticism
Days after Aniston clapped back at his controversial comments, Vance addressed the situation on the "Megyn Kelly Show" on Friday, July 26. He slammed the actress for mentioning his daughter, Mirabel, saying:
"That's disgusting because my daughter is 2 years old."
"And second of all, if she had fertility problems, as I said in that speech, I would try everything I could to try to help her because I believe families and babies are a good thing," Vance declared, per Page Six.
The politician, recently chosen as former President Donald Trump's running mate, sparked mixed reactions after a 2021 interview resurfaced online. The Blast reported he bashed female politicians without children, saying:
"A bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable with their own lives and the choices they've made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too."
Vance Incurs Aniston's Anger Following 'Childless' Comments
In the viral interview, Vance slammed Democrats for letting women without children into politics, saying: "It's just a basic fact — you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC — the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children.
"And how does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?" Vance continued. Aniston re-shared a post detailing his words on her Instagram Story alongside the retort:
"I truly can't believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States. All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day."
"I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too," Aniston concluded. Her words echoed her fertility struggles, a situation she has been vocal about.
Aniston Opens Up About Her Desperate Attempts To Conceive
Aniston's clapback at Vance came two years after she opened up about her fertility problems in an emotional interview. "I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road," she confessed.
The actress recalled spending her 30s and 40s desperately trying to conceive a child; unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. "All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard," she continued.
"I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it," Aniston lamented. She wished someone had told her to freeze her eggs sooner; however, the baby ship had sailed.
Aniston's Ex-Husband Didn't Leave Her Because Of Children
While reflecting on her fertility struggles, Aniston addressed the speculations behind her second divorce. Following her infamous Hollywood marriage to Brad Pitt, the TV personality said her second vows to filmmaker Justin Theroux.
Unfortunately, the former couple's love burned out in 2018 amid rumors of Aniston's fertility struggles being the reason for their split. However, she refuted the speculations, stressing:
"The reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn't give him a kid. It was absolute lies."
Reese Witherspoon Supports Jennifer Aniston Amid J.D. Vance Drama
Following Aniston's clap back at Vance on her Instagram Story, The Blast reported she received the support of her "The Morning Show" co-star, Reese Witherspoon.
Witherspoon re-shared her post and praised her for speaking out, writing: "Thank you for saying this so gracefully." She wasn't the only one in Aniston's corner, as fans shared similar sentiments on social media.
One X user declared: "He needs to go," while another echoed: "How insulting is he to women who can't have children?"
While Jennifer Aniston's displeasure at JD Vance's "childless" remark is understandable, the running VP doesn't believe he owes anyone an apology.
