The moment everyone has been waiting for is officially here! Simone Biles hit the floor at the 2024 Paris Olympics, making a stunning comeback three years after stepping back from the 2020 Tokyo Games, held in 2021, to focus on her mental health.
Team USA, competing in subdivision 2 on Sunday, finished with an impressive 172.296 points, more than five points ahead of Italy. The U.S. women delivered five scores of 14.5 or higher, highlighted by Simone Biles’ remarkable 15.8 on vault, and included only one score below 13.6.
A number of celebrities were in the crowd to cheer on Simone Biles, including pop queen Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga, who performed in the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, was not the only celebrity in attendance. Former Disney Channel star and current Jonas Brothers band member Nick Jonas is in Paris to cheer on the Americans.
The 31-year-old shared a video of Simone Biles on beam, calling her "incredible" and a "legend." It looks as though Jonas wasn't seated far from Lady Gaga based on the angles from both video clips.
"Mission Impossible" actor Tom Cruise, Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain, "Barbie" star Greta Gerwig, "7 Rings" singer Ariana Grande, EGOT winner John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen, were also in attendance.
USA snowboarder Shaun White and his girlfriend Nina Dobrev were spotted at the big games as well.
The 27-Year-Old Olympian Seemingly Suffered From A Small Injury
Biles delivered the steadiest performance while some of her U.S. teammates had a few nail-biting moments. Team USA racked up a dazzling 172.296 despite the jitters, topping the leaderboard. In the all-around final, Biles will be joined by her superstar teammate Sunisa Lee.
Lee, the reigning Olympic all-around champ, scored a 56.132, just edging out Jordan Chiles, who posted a 56.065. Sadly, only two gymnasts per country can advance to each final.
According to her coach, Cecile Landi, Simone Biles "felt a little pain in her calf" during her floor exercise warmup ahead of the competition.
Beijing 2008 silver medalist and U.S. women's technical lead Chellsie Memmel said, “What [Biles] was able to do, with looking like she had some soreness or something in her lower leg, is remarkable.
Despite experiencing pain, Biles "never in her mind" considered pulling out of the competition, Landi said, adding that the injury had also bothered Biles during training a couple of weeks ago but had improved until today's flare-up.
