On March 26, Lil Nas X will be releasing his first single of 2021, which is titled “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” The name of it is based on his first name. The announcement was made on Tuesday as the Atlanta native also shared the cover art for the single. The excitement is very real from his fan base right now but Nas X did take the time to respond to someone who made an ignorant comment on Twitter about the Montero cover art being “gay,” as that is Nas X’s sexual orientation.
Nas X Says ‘Montero’ Song Is Also Gay
The cover art for “Montero” features two clones of Lil Nas X completely nude as clouds cover each other’s private areas. One of them is shooting an arrow at the other one as both appear to look ready. For Nas X‘s response to the Twitter user’s homophobic comment, he calmly replied with “The song gay too, bro.” Fans of Nas X absolutely loved his reply as he didn’t let that man get him out of character and as Nas X continues to be himself.

‘Montero’ Follows Up Nas X’s Successful ‘Holiday’ Single
“Montero” is expected to do well on the charts and streaming-wise, just like all of Nas X‘s previous work over the last two years. The last single release by the star was not too long ago in December with “Holiday.” This went on to debut at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since been certified gold by the RIAA in the US. The music video for it on YouTube has also accumulated over 137 million views.
Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ Single Featuring Billy Ray Cyrus Also Continues To Dominate In 2021
While “Holiday” continues to do well and fans wait on “Montero” to be released later this month, Nas X‘s 2019 breakout hit single, “Old Town Road” single featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, continues to be a fan-favorite. In January, it became the highest certified song in RIAA history at 14x platinum. Old Town Road also ended up being the most streamed song in US history, according to Chart Data.
Nas X Also Trolled Tekashi 6ix9ine
Over a week ago, Nas X also created a viral moment as he put Tekashi 6ix9ine on blast. He showed 6ix9ine’s Instagram DMs where it displayed 6ix9ine letting Nas X know that he’d be in his city soon. This is after 6ix9ine tried to troll Nas X in a comment under a post about China requiring anal swab COVID-19 tests for visitors. 6ix9ine showed that his DMs were empty but many believed that he unsent his messages to Nas X.
