In a patriotic move, Martin Lawrence showed his support of the Obamas by sharing a post about spending time with them. 

This heartfelt moment preceded a significant political endorsement from Michelle and Barack Obama, who took to X the following day to express their enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris

The comedy legend took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share a picture with the former U.S. President and his wife. The snap highlighted a perfect blend of camaraderie and style, with both men sporting sharp suits and equally dazzling smiles.

Michelle looked equally chic in a black set with the jacket sporting chains of bling from one lapel to the other. In the caption accompanying the image, Martin enthusiastically noted, "feelin patriotic with @MichelleObama and @BarackObama 🇺🇸 how y'all feel?" 

To emphasize his support of the Obamas and probably their future endorsement, the "Bad Boys" star subsequently posted a video where he stated, "What's up y'all, it's Martin Lawrence. Michelle Obama and I want you to Vote Loud this November. See you at the polls, peace."

Michelle & Barack Obama Endorse Kamala Harris' 2024 Presidential Bid

In a significant move, the former President and First Lady endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

On Friday, Barack took to X, to declare his and Michelle's endorsement. Alongside a video of their phone call with Harris congratulating her and stating their support, the father-of-two wrote in the caption:

"Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she'll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we're going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you'll join us."

Following her husband's lead, Michelle also shared the video of their conversation with Harris, expressing her excitement and pride. The former First Lady gushed:

"I'm so proud of my girl, Kamala. Barack and I are so excited to endorse her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor, and ability to bring light and hope to people all across the country. We've got your back, @KamalaHarris!"

Harris, clearly moved by the support, responded by posting a video and captioning it, "It means so much to have your endorsements, @MichelleObama and @BarackObama. Let's get to work."

Reactions to the former first family's endorsement of Harris for the 2024 presidential election were swift and enthusiastic. 

One user reminded followers that Harris was the first elected official to endorse Barack in 2008, sharing a nostalgic video of the Vice President with her sister Maya celebrating the former president's win in Iowa.

Another netizen highlighted Harris's early support for Barack by noting:

"Kamala Harris spent New Year's Eve at Barack Obama's campaign headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2007. She was one of his earliest supporters, and now, today, former President Barack Obama just endorsed Kamala Harris." 

The excitement did not stop there. A third supporter pointed out the ambitious scale of Harris's campaign, exclaiming:

 "Absolutely crazy! Not only is Barack Obama planning to go on the campaign trail with Kamala Harris, but the Harris campaign is expected to hold 2,300 campaign events this weekend alone." 

They further enthused, "You heard that right! 2,300 campaign events just this weekend!" Ironically, another supporter called out former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany for speculating that Barack might not endorse Harris. 

They pointed out that McEnany's stance was basedon, "unverified quotes from an anon "Biden family source" from the NYPost - a paper owned by the same company as Fox News. A lot can change in a few hours…"

With President Joe Biden stepping out of the presidential race, Harris received a surge of support from the entertainment industry. The Blast observed the growing excitement for Harris's potential presidency, including singer Ariana Grande.

The pop star took to her Instagram Stories to support the Vice President by reposting Biden's endorsement alongside a voter registration link for her millions of fans.

Next up was R&B legend John Legend, who expressed his enthusiasm on Instagram, writing, "She's ready for this fight, and I'm excited to help her in any way I can."

Tina Knowles, mother of music superstar Beyoncé, publicly endorsed Harris on her page. She shared a photo of herself with Kamala, captioning it with a rallying cry: "Go, Vice President Kamala Harris, for President. Let's Go #kamala2024."

Jamie Lee Curtis also voiced her strong backing through a series of Instagram posts. Curtis described Harris as "trusted and tested," before highlighting her dedication to advancing women's rights and racial equity. 

The actress emphatically noted, "Her message is one of HOPE and UNITY for America at her time of great national divide."

Director Spike Lee joined the chorus of support with a striking Instagram tribute featuring Harris's portrait alongside the caption, "Once again a sista comes to da rescue."
