According to sources close to the singer, Adele got engaged to her boyfriend, Rich Paul, last Thursday despite months of speculations that they'd already wed.
The news has left several of Adele's fans happy on social media, and the happy couple is expected to host a lavish wedding celebration sometime next year.
Adele And Rich Paul Are Engaged
The "Hello" hitmaker reportedly became the sports agent's betrothed after agreeing to marry him.
According to The Sun, Paul allegedly popped the question last Thursday, to which Adele immediately said "Yes" and then FaceTimed her friends and family to share the good news.
A source told the news outlet that Paul "planned for the proposal to be in her hometown and gave her an incredible four-carat diamond ring," adding that they "celebrated with champagne at Chiltern Firehouse the following evening."
Adele previously sparked rumors that she had wed Paul after she was spotted flashing a huge ring on her engagement finger and referring to Paul as her husband.
The source continued, "Adele thinks it's hilarious that fans reckon they're already married. It's been an in-joke. Now everyone is joking that she could make the ultimate wedding singer."
According to the news outlet, friends expect them to hold a lavish wedding ceremony towards the end of next year.
Fans React To The News Of Adele's Engagement
Several fans took to social media to congratulate the pair on reports of their engagement.
A fan wrote, "Well, congratulations to her. They've literally been in each other's arms for the longest time. Can't wait to see them live happily ever after."
Another fan congratulated them before adding, "I thought they were married."
Some other fans want the singer to exercise caution with one warning, "She better get a prenup. cause I know she is making bank from over 80M albums sales & all these Vegas shows."
The Singer Called Rich Paul Her 'Husband'
Last year in September, Adele set tongues wagging about her private life during her Vegas residency when she playfully turned down a fan's proposal.
During the show, the "I Drink Wine" singer was proposed to by a bold audience member who shouted, "Will you marry me?" in a video clip that went viral on TikTok.
In response, Adele said, "You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight."
The persistent audience member continued, "Can you try?" To which Adele made it clear she was happily committed to Paul, stating: "No, I don't want to try. I'm with Rich. You're crazy; leave me alone."
Adele Wants 'A Big Break' From Music
It seems the wedding plans and settling into married life again are things the "Set Fire To The Rain" singer would want to take her time on, as she recently disclosed that she plans to take a step back from music.
Adele, whose weekend residency performances run till November 23, noted that she has no plans to make new music.
Speaking to Germany's ZDF, the 36-year-old star said, "I don't have any plans for new music at all," adding that she, in fact, "doesn't like being famous."
"I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while," she added.
Adele's residency kicked off in November 2022 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and with more than a year gone, she said that the run of 100 live shows over that period has left her feeling like her "tank is quite empty."
The Singer Is Set To Take On Munich
Before she seemingly puts a pause on her music, she's set to perform a series of gigs in Munich at a specially built 80,000-capacity venue on August 2, 3, 9, 10, 14, 16, 23, 24, 30, and 31.
After announcing the initial run of Munich shows, she took to her Instagram account, writing, "So a few months ago, I got a call about a summer run of shows. I've been content as anything with my shows in London's Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn't had any other plans. However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on."
Adele has not gone on a world tour since 2016-2017, so her upcoming Munich performance will seemingly give fans across Europe a rare opportunity to see her up close and personal, doing her thing.
