Cardi B has been a star since 2016, which dates back to her “Love and Hip-Hop: New York” days. In 2017, Cardi saw her huge breakthrough as a music artist with her “Bodak Yellow” single. That became the biggest record of the year as it reached at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Bodak Yellow has been breaking records since then and now, it has reached its biggest milestone to date with its latest RIAA certification on Tuesday.
‘Bodak Yellow’ Goes Diamond In The US
Bodak Yellow was officially certified diamond in the US by the RIAA. This is after selling 10 million units. It also achieved the historic mark of being the only female rap song to ever do this. Cardi took to her Instagram feed to post a throwback video of her rapping along to Bodak Yellow as she is now thanking everyone for their support since then.
“How it started ,How’s its going .Thank you every1 that send me beautiful congrats on Bodak going Diamond. A couple of years ago I didn’t even understand what going diamond means or meant I just wanted to win and break in.”

Cardi’s ‘WAP’ Single Goes 5x Platinum On Same Day
On the same day that “Bodak Yellow” went diamond, Cardi also received more huge news regarding one of her latest hit singles. That is that her 2020 “WAP” single featuring Megan Thee Stallion was certified 5x platinum in the US by the RIAA. It was originally released back in August and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It remains one of the hottest songs in the country and is expected to appear on Cardi’s forthcoming sophomore album.
Cardi Also Also Has A Lot Of Momentum With New ‘Up’ Single
Cardi is also red hot with the momentum she built a month ago with the release of her “Up” single. This was her first solo single since 2019 as it has a strong first week release by debuting at No. 2 on the Hot 100. It fell short of the top spot as Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” remained at the No. 1 position. Of course though, Up set a Hot 100 record as it was the highest debuting female rap song since Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” back in 1998.
