Singer Kesha wasn't pleased with J.D. Vance's comments about women, Kamala Harris, and the Democratic party.
Using a series of expletives, she expressed her dissatisfaction with Vance's comment about "childless cat ladies," which he made as a dig in a 2021 interview that recently resurfaced online.
Kesha also threw her support behind Harris for the upcoming U.S. election, in which Harris is the Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee.
Kesha Blasts J.D. Vance With Multiple Expletives
Kesha had some strong words for Vance after his viral controversial comment about the Democratic Party and its top leaders resurfaced recently.
In a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance had said the party was made up of "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too."
He also mentioned that some of the individuals he referred to were Harris, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Seemingly angered by what he said, Kesha used a series of expletives to describe him and his parties when she was asked about Vance while she was at the Los Angeles Airport.
According to TMZ, she said, "'F-ck that man! That's all I have to say. F-ck them all," agreeing that his comments were "sexist."
Doubling down on her stance, the singer said she "absolutely" supports Harris.
Other Celebrities Have Reacted To J.D. Vance's Controversial Comment
Kesha isn't the only celebrity who has reacted to Vance's comments. Actress Jennifer Aniston took to her Instagram story to blast the senator while expressing shock that he made such remarks.
"I truly can't believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States," Aniston wrote, per Variety. "All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children one day."
The actress then pointed out Vance's vote against the Right to IVF Act, which aims to safeguard access to IVF services nationwide. She expressed her hope that the senator's stance would not one day prevent his child from having children if she ever faces fertility issues.
Anniston added, "I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too."
J.D. Vance's Comment Received Mixed Reactions On Social Media
On X, some users also took offense at Vance's comment, describing it as inappropriate.
One person wrote, "There are many people that want to have children but can't. I hate comments knocking anyone for not having them. You don't know the story."
Someone else remarked, "If, as his supporters are saying, he didn't mean those who can't conceive, then why was he talking about all women in powerful roles and not just women in general? Does he know Kamala and her husband's entire medical history. Total backpedal from those backing a misogynist."
Some other individuals threw their support behind Vance, saying there was nothing wrong with his comment.
One wrote, "He was talking about all the childless politicians determining our future, not just the childless women."
A second person commented, "Is he wrong though? People with no stake in the future of the country naturally just don't care as much about it."
The Senator Allegedly Once Argued For Childless Americans To Pay More Taxes
Since Vance became the Republican vice presidential nominee, some of his controversial past comments have resurfaced.
According to Raw Story, a recently released report claimed that Vance once "argued for higher tax rate on childless Americans." It also mentioned that the senator said the country needed to "reward the things that we think are good" and "punish the things that we think are bad."
The report cited a 2021 interview where Vance appeared on an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show podcast.
Vance said at the time, "If you are making $100,000, $400,000 a year and you've got three kids, you should pay a different, lower tax rate than if you are making the same amount of money and you don't have any kids. It's that simple."
Donald Trump Announced J.D. Vance As His Running Mate At RNC
Amid a delicate period in America and as the 2024 presidential election fast approaches, Trump finally unveiled Vance of Ohio as his running mate at the Republican National Convention to a loud round of applause, indicating that his supporters approve of his VP pick.
Since the start of his presidential re-election bid, Trump had been tight-lipped about his preferred candidate for the vice president position despite being questioned about it on several occasions.
Since announcing the Vance, the political duo have gone on a fiery campaign for the 2024 election. However, Vance's past comments surfacing have raised several eyebrows, with several speculating that Trump might replace the Ohio senator.
