Sharon Stone has threatened to abandon ship and leave the US if Donald Trump emerges victorious in the upcoming presidential election.
The Hollywood star made the bold declaration after claiming that the Republican party nominee is contending for the presidency on a "platform of hate and oppression," adding that she's considering buying a house in Italy if Trump wins.
Sharon Stone joins a barrage of other A-list stars who are opposed to a potential second term for Donald Trump.
Sharon Stone Says She'll Leave America If Donald Trump Wins
The "Basic Instinct" star has vowed to leave the United States if Trump wins the presidency in November.
She joins celebrities like George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Katy Perry, and Robert De Niro, who are either against the billionaire politician's second term in office or publicly voiced their support for his opposing candidate, Kamala Harris.
"I am certainly considering a house in Italy. I think that's an intelligent construct at this time," Stone said, per the Daily Mail. "This is one of the first times in my life that I've actually seen anyone running for office on a platform of hate and oppression."
According to the news outlet, the "Casino" star has lived in the same house for more than two decades and currently has sons Roan, 24, Laird, 19, and Quinn, 17, there with her. She adopted Laird and Quinn after becoming estranged from ex-husband Phil Bronstein.
Sharon Stone's Friends Confirm Her European House Hunt
Stone is seemingly not bluffing with her claim that she'll abandon the US if Trump wins. Sources close to her have confirmed that she is actively searching for a new home in Europe.
According to friends of the star, the 66-year-old actress and painter has been scouring the real estate market in the French Riviera before opting to settle for Italy.
"Sharon has a really beautiful home with her children in Beverly Hills but I know that she did look in Antibes," an insider told the news outlet. "That was a few years ago but she did not pull the trigger on it."
"It's fair to say that she is thinking about it again. I would say that France is still more likely than Italy," they added.
While Stone's plans to relocate to Italy are still in the early stages, her travel itinerary across Europe will seemingly afford her the chance to check out other countries should she follow through with her plans.
The "Total Recall" actress has an exhibition of her paintings coming up in Rome and another currently going on in Berlin. She's also set to film "Nobody 2" opposite Bob Odenkirk in America later this year.
Sharon Stone Recounts Losing $18 Million On Savings
It comes after the actress recounted the sad tale of her huge financial loss in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
During the conversation, Stone said she lost $18 million in savings and was left with "zero money" after suffering from a stroke in 2001.
She noted that the health scare caused a nine-day brain bleed as a result of people taking advantage of her at the time when she was reclused from the spotlight to recover.
"I had $18 million saved because of all my success, but when I got back into my bank account, it was all gone. My refrigerator, my phone — everything was in other people's names," Stone said. "I had zero money."
Sharon Stone's Trauma Had An Effect On Her Lifestyle
The "Catwoman" actress went further to share the trauma she had to go through, noting that she went through a "death experience" that "100 percent" changed the way she thinks and the way her brain works.
"A Buddhist monk told me that I had been reincarnated into my same body," Stone recounted. "I had a death experience and then they brought me back. I bled into my brain for nine days, so my brain was shoved to the front of my face. It wasn't positioned in my head where it was before."
"And while that was happening, everything changed. My sense of smell, my sight, my touch. I couldn't read for a couple of years," Stone continued. "Things were stretched and I was seeing color patterns. A lot of people thought I was going to die."
Sharon Stone Says She 'Lives For Joy Now'
Stone further revealed that after she recovered, she was able to move on from the theft because she decided to "stay present and let go."
"I decided not to hang onto being sick or to any bitterness or anger. If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive," Stone said.
"So, I live for joy now. I live for [a] purpose," the Oscar-nominated actress added.
