Prince William has reportedly refused to shift ground on his decision to sever ties with his younger brother, Prince Harry.
According to a royal expert, William has found it easier to shut the door on Harry as he takes charge of the royal family amid a health crisis.
The once-inseparable brothers have not been on speaking terms since Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, gave up their royal duties, and Prince William is understood to want things to remain that way.
Prince William And Prince Harry's Bitter Feud Deepens
The Prince of Wales is seemingly bent on keeping his strained relationship with Harry that way, even as several senior members of the royal family continue to battle various health conditions.
In the aftermath of Harry and Meghan's exit from the royal family, the couple made several bombshell allegations against the firm, which resulted in broken ties with them.
Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have allegedly been talking about reconciling with the firm, the divide between the two siblings appears to have grown wider, as William is said to be unwilling to extend an olive branch.
"I have been saying this for months now – William pulled up the drawbridge and is not about to let it down for Harry anytime soon," royal expert Christopher Andersen told Fox News Digital.
"William not only expects loyalty from his brother on a very personal level, but he commands respect as the heir to the throne," Andersen added. "That's just the kind of person the Prince of Wales is. He has always been brought up to believe, as his father did before him, that if the system is to work at all, he comes first after the king – simple as that."
Why The Prince Of Wales Found It 'Easier' To 'Slam The Door' On His Brother
According to Andersen, William has found it easier to "slam the door" on his brother Harry while managing things at the palace, especially during the health crisis plaguing his wife, Kate Middleton, and father, King Charles.
The royal expert said, "It's just been so much easier for William, facing the pressure of having to cope with his wife's, as well as his father's cancer diagnoses, to slam the door on Harry."
He further claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II gave Harry the cold shoulder.
"Queen Elizabeth was able to do it, and the king has shown no interest in making amends with Harry either," Andersen told Fox. "If anything, it looks as if the cancer diagnoses have made it easier for William to shut his brother out."
'Illness Has Not Brought The Brothers Together'
"From William's perspective, at this moment, where's the upside to trying to make peace with Harry?" the royal expert asked.
"It would take a lot of negotiating and compromise to even lay down the hatchet, much less bury it. Both sides would have to find a way to take responsibility and apologize. Ain't happening anytime soon."
"It's an awful lot to handle. You really can't blame him… But the truth is that illness has not brought the brothers together. Oddly, it has driven them further apart," Anderson stated.
Prince William' Has Always Been A Strong Character'
Andersen's claims mirror that of royal expert Jennie Bond, who shared that the future king maintains a "resolute" approach to his relationship with Harry.
"William has always been a strong character," Bond told OK! Magazine. "I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision."
She continued, "He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway. Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it's true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on several issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry."
The Future King Allegedly 'Banned' The Duke Of Sussex From Returning To The Royal Fold
Amid the ongoing royal feud, it has been alleged that William placed a ban on the Duke of Sussex from returning to the royal fold.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that William is employing a no-nonsense approach to his feud with Harry and has placed an "absolute ban" on his return.
"It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape, or form into his former royal family fold," she told the news outlet.
Fordwich continued, "If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles, whom, of course, Prince William won't challenge, who still misses his 'darling boy' and would like to see more of Prince Harry."
She added, "However, to this day, after the release of 'Spare' and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it's Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother."
