Grimes and baby X Æ A-XII may be the first citizens of Elon Musk's new town, "Starbase!"
The spacey pop star and her son, who turns 1 in May, joined the Tesla CEO on a road trip to a whole lot of nothing on Monday, March 8. Well, it looks like nothing now, but it will be the location of a brand new town in Texas that Musk plans to build. The eccentric billionaire marked the occasion by sharing a rare family photo that featured Grimes, X Æ A-XII, and himself on location. A cute photo and big news... we like Elon's style!

Musk first mentioned creating a new town a few days before, on March 2. "Creating the city of Starbase, Texas," he tweeted before quickly following it up with another, "From thence to Mars, And hence the Stars." At the time, his millions of followers were unsure what to make of the bold statement, but he seems very serious about the whole thing.
Less than a week later, he shared his adorable family photo and labeled it "Starbase, Texas." Elon is working on renaming the town of Boca Chica Village, where his company, SpaceX, is currently working on prototypes of its Starship spacecraft, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The extremely busy businessman got a taste of who is really in charge last month when baby X Æ A-XII tugged on Elon's shirt. Musk was seemingly trying to have an important phone call, but the little guy didn't care. "The Second Last Kingdom," he captioned his photo, seemingly referring to his recent relocation to Texas. It was also a reference to the DIY haircut that Grimes gave their son. She tried to give him a mohawk inspired by the Viking show, "The Last Kingdom."

Musk's family photo comes on the same day that the news broke that Grimes has signed with Columbia records. The star announced it on social media after the news began circulating online. "Just signed to Columbia Records! ??" the singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, wrote. "Wanted to wait till I finished ? to tell ppl but the word got out ...so." She continued, "thanks to everyone whose been following my tunes all these years.
Means the world and more to me.
We’ll meet again soon ? COMMENCE PHASE 2."
