The latest episode of the "90210MG" podcast paid tribute to the late actress, with Spelling telling her co-hosts she was "not doing well" when asked how she was coping with the tragic news.

The "Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?" star stressed that she "emotionally didn't feel ready" to address Doherty's death; however, she needed to honor her memory for fans. In her words:

"I feel like I know a lot of people are speaking out and giving lovely tributes to her in her memory, but I just, oh, I obviously wanted to do this for the fans, so this episode is for them, not for us."

Spelling, per ET, noted it was difficult to talk about Doherty, just as she initially found it challenging to accept her death. "I guess it was just that belief that she fought so hard and was such a warrior," she said.

While reflecting on Doherty's years-long battle with cancer, Spelling praised the late actress for fighting hard and making people believe she could survive the terminal condition.

"She has shown her entire life and career that she can get past anything. So although we know the answer is so evil and takes everyone that we love, it's just, I don't know," Spelling lamented, adding:

"I guess she made you believe that she was the one that would make it, and she was so hopeful."

Although she was heartbroken over Doherty's death, Spelling was grateful for their last conversation. She did not dwell on their discussion but noted it cleared any regrets she could have had.

While recalling her final conversation with Doherty, Spelling said: "I've had a lot of death in my life, and I don't believe in regrets, but I have a lot of regrets that I didn't have that time to have a second chance to get past stuff from the past."

"And look at all the good things and really talk it out and have that last conversation. I feel like she and I had that, and I'm super grateful for that," she told co-hosts Jennie Garth and Amy Sugarman.

Garth and Sugarman confessed they felt almost fearful after Doherty's death because she died a year older than another "90210" star. Luke Perry died at the age of 52 in 2019 after suffering a stroke before filming the series' reboot.
