Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott — who is also one of the richest people on the planet — has just married a Seattle school teacher, after meeting him while her children attended.
The 50-year-old philanthropist tied the know with Dan Jewett, who is a longtime science teacher who most recently taught at a private school in Seattle. According to multiple reports, Scott’s children attended classes at the school and that is where the newlyweds met.
Interestingly, Jewett confirmed the nuptials after posting a letter on MacKenzie’s charity website — pledging to give away a majority of his ‘wealth.’

The newly married couple posted statements on pages of the “Giving Pledge” website — a campaign that encourages rich people to donate a majority of their money to charity — confirming they are living together in the Seattle area.
According to previous reports, the Bezos children have been students at the school since 2019 and the couple was often spotted on campus with the kids. It’s unclear of Dan’s current status as a teacher — as his name is no longer listed in the staff directory as of Monday morning.

It should be noted, following the divorce with Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie reportedly kept 4% of Amazon which places her as the 22nd richest person in the world. Her current net worth is $53.5 BILLION!
Since the split, MacKenzie has become a very devoted philanthropist, announcing she has already donated over $4 Billion of her wealth to 384 organizations.
Now, Jewett has added his name to the ‘Giving Pledge’ and promised to join her “in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.”

“It is strange to be writing a letter indicating I plan to give away the majority of my wealth during my lifetime, as I have never sought to gather the kind of wealth required to feel like saying such a thing would have a particular meaning,” Jewett wrote.
Adding, “I have been a teacher for the majority of my life, as well as a grateful student of the generosity of those around me. This has meant doing my best to follow their example by passing on resources of all kinds—from time, to energy, to material possessions—when I have had them to give. And now, in a stroke of happy coincidence, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know—and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.”
