Richard Simmons, known for his frequent and heartfelt communication with fans, passed away a day after his 76th birthday.

The beloved fitness guru, who passed away on July 13 at the age of 76, left a lasting legacy of motivation and kindness.

Last week, Simmons was laid to rest in Los Angeles, where his family buried him at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary. 

Simmons remained a constant presence in his fans' lives through frequent communication, even after stepping out of the public eye. 

This connection has made his gravesite significant for many admirers, so it is no surprise that pictures of his final resting place would hold great importance. The photos of his final resting place revealed it was surrounded by a sea of flowers.

The images obtained showed the gravesite adorned with various flower arrangements, including an impressive bouquet of roses, a testament to the love and respect Simmons inspired.

While authorities ruled out foul play, sources close to the matter revealed that a bathroom fall may have contributed to his demise. In Touch reported that following the incident, Simmons' housekeeper urged him to seek medical attention. 

However, he declined, reportedly wanting to enjoy his birthday undisturbed. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office completed an initial autopsy, but the cause of death remains undetermined. 

However, additional tests are reportedly underway to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Simmons' passing.

The unexpected passing of the fitness legend just a day after his birthday left fans worldwide heartbroken. Known for his constant engagement with his followers, even after stepping away from the limelight, Simmons ensured that his absence would not leave a void.

The Blast shared that in a heartfelt tribute, Simmons' team revealed the late star's intended Sunday post on X. The post showcased his meticulous planning and deep connection with his fans. 

The message, a testament to Simmons' thoughtful nature, read, "Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars. Love, Richard."

Beyond the heartfelt social media post he never got to share, Simmons had ambitious plans for his future. The New Orleans native was poised to make a triumphant return to the fitness world, aiming to motivate a new generation of health enthusiasts.

Simmons' brother, Lenny, revealed that the beloved star had a burning desire to re-enter the spotlight and share his passion with a younger audience.

He noted that his late brother recognized the changing landscape of fitness and believed there was a renewed need for his energetic and inspiring approach. Lenny explained:

"I think the way kids are growing up today with their phones and all that, and not getting out… there's a need again, and I think that's why he came out of retirement. He knew — if you read some of his posts — people will say, 'I used to watch your videos with my grandparents.' So, you know, it's a new generation that is watching."

The fitness icon left behind a substantial real estate legacy in addition to his inspiring fitness career. 

The Blast reported that real estate companies disclosed that the late TV star's sprawling 4,119-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles was valued at an estimated $4.9 million to $5.4 million.

Simmons had owned the property since 1989, making it a significant part of his life and career. Real estate records indicate that the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home was a cherished asset for Simmons.

While this is the most substantial property linked to Simmons, it is worth noting that he once owned a smaller home in West Hollywood, which he later sold.

Despite his passing, Richard Simmons' legacy of motivation, kindness, and connection continues to shine.
