Golden Globe winner Sacha Baron Cohen is best known for his jokes that flawlessly delve into the character.
However, fans of the comedian may not be as familiar with his personal life, including his marriage to "The Great Gatsby" star Isla Fisher. Cohen and Fisher tied the knot in 2010 and are blessed with three beautiful children together.
While Cohen is known for his off-the-wall character Borat, Fisher is renowned for her characters as Gloria in "Wedding Crashers" and Rebecca in "Confessions of a Shopaholic."
Love At First Meet
As the couple has kept their personal life private, they are not usually included in celebrity gossip. According to People, they first met in 2002 at a Sydney, Australia party.
Sparking a romance, they dated for two years and got engaged. Years later, they had their children in 2007, 2011, and 2016.
Going further back to Cohen's early life, the actor was born and raised in London, England, in a tight-knit Jewish community. Meanwhile, Fisher, whose parents were from Scotland, was born in Muscat, Oman.
Fisher Grew Up Around The World
Fisher’s father worked for the United Nations as a banker for a few years before the family moved back to their country, Scotland, when she was young. They eventually moved to Perth, Australia.
Raised in Australia, Fisher made her way into the entertainment industry, acting in most soap operas.
Taking a break, she studied acting before going on to Hollywood. Her first significant role in the industry was in the live-action "Scooby-Doo" adaptation. In the movie, she played the role of Mary Jane.
Love Is The Greatest Bond
The same year the movie was released, Fisher met her husband Cohen, and the rest is history. The couple hit it off quickly and became so close that Fisher converted to Judaism to make their marriage legitimate for Cohen's family.
In a chat with Australia's Sunday Telegraph,Fisher, at the time, claimed she would have a Jewish wedding to be with her man.
She added that she would join any religion to be with him. She affirmed that she and Cohen have a future together, and faith comes second to love in their opinion.
Committing To Forever
According to reports, Fisher studied her intended faith for three years, took a Hebrew name, and still observes the Sabbath to this day.
Cohen himself admitted that he is not "a religious Jew" but is proud of his Jewish identity and confirms certain customs he adheres to.
In a chat with Telegraph, Fisher shared that their three children named Olive, Elula, and Montgomery also live private lives. She continued that she wasn't comfortable about discussing her personal life, a trait she claims she and her husband share.
