Miley Cyrus' older brother is getting real with fans and admitting he has not been in an emotionally good space lately but is doing his best to pull himself out of the "dark" and get back on track. 32-year-old Trace Cyrus took to Instagram this week with an update for his nearly 760,000 followers after not posting any updates on the social media platform for almost two months. While admitting that he has ups and downs, Trace also asked that fans share their stories so that everyone can better help support each other.

"Ever feel like nothing in life is going right? No matter how hard you try things just don’t work out the way you hoped?" Trace Cyrus asked his fans on social media upon his return.
While captioning a smoldering photo of himself against a nature background, Cyrus continued, "That’s what I was feeling lately. I’ve had to dig deep to get myself out of this dark place I’ve been in. I had to take a step back & realize how much I have to be thankful for."

The elder brother of Miley Cyrus explained where his priorities are at the moment and discussed the dedication he's putting into staying healthy and on track:
"I’m focusing hard on ignoring any expectations I have in life & focusing on appreciating all I’ve been blessed with. ❤️ I have barely been on social media lately but want to start making it a top priority to communicate with all my supporters."
Cyrus also prompted his followers to share their own stories:
"Let’s chat below! Let me know how you’ve been feeling, ask me any questions, or just drop an emoji ?? I love you guys!"

Trace Cyrus has been open about his struggles with anxiety and addiction. Last October, he updated fans on his continuing sobriety journey and revealed that he had been clean for over a month.
"31 days completely sober! My energy has come back. I’m sleeping better than I have in years," Cyrus wrote while revealing a shirtless photo of himself.
He added, "The most important thing in my life is music & I’ve put that on hold to focus on this process of bettering myself."
