On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden officially announced he would no longer run for re-election, and instead, he is endorsing his Vice President, Kamala Harris.
Harris's campaign has raised nearly $50M in seven hours and is set to run in the 2024 Presidential election. She is in the process of choosing a running mate.
While former President Donald Trump is now set to face Kamala Harris in the presidential run and become the 47th President of the United States, reports are now exposing Trump for previously donating to Harris's campaign.
Kamala Harris Is Set To Run For The 47th President Of The United States
On Sunday, the Democratic fundraising platform announced that nearly $47 million was raised by small-dollar donors on ActBlue within seven hours of Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign launch.
According to The New York Times, these donations represented the largest single day for online Democratic contributions since the 2020 election.
Joe Biden Endorses Kamala Harris
This comes as Joe Biden announced his endorsement for his Vice President, something Harris is "honored" to have.
"I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination," she wrote in her statement on Sunday. "Over the past year, I have traveled across the country, talking with Americans about the clear choice in this momentous election. And that is what I will continue to do in the days and weeks ahead. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda."
"We have 107 days until Election Day," she said. "Together, we will fight. And together, we will win."

Reports show that Donald Trump donated to Kamala Harris' campaign for California Attorney General. Trump contributed $5,000 in 2011, $1,000 in 2013, and $2,000 in 2014.
The database also lists Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, as giving Harris $2,000 for her re-election committee in June 2014.
After the news spread on social media, the Republican National Committee snarkily shared, “When Trump wrote that check to re-elect Kamala Harris in 2011, I bet he didn’t think she’d cash it in 2024!”
Donald Trump Calls Joe Biden The 'Worst President'
Following Joe Biden's announcement, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to break his silence. "The Democrats pick a candidate, Crooked Joe Biden, he loses the Debate badly, then panics, and makes mistake after mistake, is told he can’t win, and decide they will pick another candidate, probably Harris," he said. "They stole the race from Biden after he won it in the primaries — A First! These people are the real THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!"
Since Trump's initial statement, Harris has announced she will be running and is currently seeking a Vice President.
The committee also submitted a letter to the commission stating that “Vice President Harris is now a candidate for United States President in the 2024 election and will henceforth be conducting campaign activities only in pursuit of that office.”
If elected, Harris will become the first Black woman to become president.
“Oftentimes Black women are not seen until they’re needed,” said LaTosha Brown, a co-founder of Black Voters Matter, a progressive group that works to boost Black voter turnout. “We’ve seen her constantly berated, marginalized, questioned. I think that the shift is because there’s a need.”
The Attempted Assassination Of Former President Trump
This news comes one week after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump--an incident which prompted Joe Biden to call for "unity."
"I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump's rally in Pennsylvania. I'm grateful to hear that he's safe and doing well. I'm praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information," Biden said at the time. "Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There's no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it."
As The Blast reported, former President Donald Trump narrowly avoided a fatal incident on July 13 when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired six to eight shots, one of which grazed the 78-year-old’s right ear. With the shooter getting as close as 164 yards to Trump, many are raising concerns about the security measures at the rally.
