Brad Pitt’s Daughter Doubles Down His Tossed Name With Newspaper Announcement

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Shiloh Jolie is standing on business regarding tossing her father's name!

The 18-year-old is not going back on her decision to adopt only "Jolie" as her official surname and bought a page in the papers to prove it to the court.

Shiloh Jolie is Brad Pitt's third child to drop his famous last name, and he was particularly blindsided by her decision but not necessarily surprised.

Shiloh is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the court approves her request to adopt her new identity. She fulfilled a significant part of the process by placing a notice on the pages of The Los Angeles Times.

The newspaper notice, which explained that Shiloh filed a petition for a court order to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, was released to hasten the process.

The notice informed interested persons in the very public matter or anyone who disagrees with the petition's grant to appear in court later in the month.

In Touch gathered that Shiloh kicked off her transition to a new last name as soon as she turned 18 on May 27 this year, declaring to the court that her reason for ditching "Pitt" was personal. 

A source close to her mother, Angelina, revealed that Shiloh hired her own lawyer and is funding the process by herself, noting that "Angie doesn't know and can't speak for it."

While Brad felt he was not carried along by his daughter's strong resolution, he is not surprised that she made the move.

Sources close to the "Fury" actor revealed that he feels Angelina has "slowly but surely turned their kids against him," adding that "she absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from their dad."

Another insider revealed that Brad is aware of the development and upset that the 18-year-old dropped his last name, but it does not change the joy he felt when she was born, as he had always wanted a daughter.

"The reminders that he's lost his children,is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It's very sad. He still loves all of his kids tremendously," another source close to Brad noted, then added, "This whole process has been very hard for the whole family."

Shiloh may have refused to disclose the entire reason behind her name change, but close sources have suggested that it is linked to the ongoing bitter custody battle with her parents.

The 18-year-old and her siblings were reportedly stopped from testifying despite Angelina's demand that the court allow it, and she blames her father for the refusal.

Shiloh believed her rights as a victim of crime to testify were violated as she was on the plane with her parents and siblings during one of the incidents that led to the breakdown of her parent's marriage.

Shiloh is the third eldest of the estranged couple's children, which also included Pax, Maddox, Zahara, Knox, and Vivienne.

The Blast reported that Vivienne removed "Pitt" from her name in May on the credit of the playbill for her role in the Broadway musical "The Outsiders."

Shiloh's older sister, Zahara, reintroduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie at an initiation ceremony for a Spelman College sorority in November 2023.

A source close to the family disclosed that the kids struggled to "forgive and connect with Brad since the divorce," adding that their mom is the head of the household and she raised them with love and selflessness their whole lives.

The unfortunate incident, which spelled doom for one of the most envied unions in Hollywood, occurred on the couple's private jet, which conveyed them back home after a two-week vacation.

According to an FBI report, Brad allegedly verbally and physically abused the "Maleficent" actress during their heated exchange on the plane.

Their six kids were present at the scene and watched as their parents engaged in a war of words and started crying as things escalated.

The award-winning actress reportedly suffered multiple injuries to her back and elbow, while Brad left with a scratch on his body.

However, despite the unpleasant situation, the estranged couple agreed that criminal charges would not be filed due to several undisclosed factors.

The actor’s former security guard, Tony Webb, backed up Brad’s claim of Angelina deliberately undermining his relationship with their children.

Last month, it was reported that Webb confirmed that the award-winning actress tweaked the children’s schedule to prevent them from hanging out with their father during custody visits.

The security guard who managed the estranged couple’s security firm also accused Angelina’s aide, Michael Vieira, of calling him to prevent two security guards under non-disclosure agreements from testifying in the custody case.
