“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah is being torn to shreds by her former dress designer over alleged verbal assault he experienced while working for her.
The designer, Koa Johnson, is speaking out after alleged audio of Jen leaked online. In the clips, Jen is reportedly heard berating her designer and glam squad over issues with her reunion show dress.
Jen can be heard screaming at her team “shut the fuck up.” She allegedly added, “get your shit bitch I don’t care…you have a fucking place to lay your fucking head because you’re in my house. You don’t be disrespectful.”
Kojo, who was present when the alleged audio was recorded, decided to take to social media to address the situation. He wrote, “First of all I would like to address all of the kind words and support from everyone who reached out. Secondly, I’ve been made aware of a recording that is circulating which involved my previous employer, I have been asked to clarify the context …”
He added, “However, I would like to be clear of what is important here. Regardless of the reason, there is no excuse for anyone (especially in the workplace) to talk to a person that way.”
The designer denied being the one to leak the audio to the press. He said, “I don’t know who released the audio, but I’m glad they did because now I feel like I can finally speak about my experience.”
He said, “I’ve been protecting this woman for way too long. Let’s state FACTS.” Kojo said he was brought to Utah to design custom couture and gowns for Jen.
Kojo wrote, “In the ten months I spent working, I have been verbally assaulted, I had to work all hours, through the night, mostly unpaid.”
He added, “I had to tiptoe around a hostile work environment in an attempt to preserve my mental health and well-being.”
In regard to him being paid on time, Kojo accuses Jen of owing him a ton of money. He said, “The last payment that I received from my previous employer was in September even though I continued working through January.”
He ended, “My art is the ONLY THING that I have to show for my time here in Utah. What was NOT going to do is come for that. Enough in this situation has already been taken away from me. My creativity and my work are where I draw the line and anyone in the art community would understand that.”
Jen has yet to respond to Kojo’s claims. As The Blast previously reported, Jen and her other cast members recently started filming season 2 of the hit Bravo show.
