The 40-year-old confirmed to the media that his upcoming LP "Bando Stone & The New World" will be his last under his famous stage. Glover shared that he came to realize that it's no longer fulfilling for him to perform with that moniker, in his words:

"And i just felt like I didn't need to build in this way anymore."

The "This is America" singer said he is "definitely not 25 and standing in front of a boulder anymore," adding, "This has to move. You give what you can, but there's beauty everywhere in every moment. You don't have to build it. You don't have to search for it."

But this change did not happen overnight. His change in status as a parent also influenced this new phase of his life and reshaped his perception of success.

The Singer Is Set To Share His New Album With The World

Glover and Childish Gambino were a match made in music heaven for over a decade, releasing six albums together and winning 5 Grammy Awards. It is only right that he sets the name aside with a well-deserved album set to be released five years after his last project.

The surprise album, released in 2020, titled "3.15.20," featured contributions from Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, and Grammy award-winning R&B singer SZA.

It was released as two versions: a continuous play version under "Donald Glover Presents." and a standard track-by-track version under "Childish Gambino," and was updated with the release of "Atavista (3.15.20 reimagined versions)."

"Bando Stone & The New World" will replicate the feat of its predecessor with an exquisite lineup of features from award-winning artists like Chloe Bailey, Jorja Smith, Yeat, Amaarae, Flo Milli, Steve Lacy, Foushee, and more.

The father-of-three declared that he is ready to leave a lasting mark in the minds of those who would listen to the album, noting:

"...if they look back a year later and are reminded of how much they listened to it and what that felt like in the summer of '24 -- that kind of real estate is way more valuable to me [than chart metrics]."

Glover Secured Two Emmy Nominations For A Movie Role

Glover sure has a lot to be excited about as a creative. He bagged two Primetime Emmy nominations on Wednesday for his character in the Mr.& Mrs. Smith movie.

The actor played John Smith in the revamped and retwisted version of the 2005 film, which originally starred Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Glover was not the only cast member recognized for the project; his co-star Maya Erskine, who played Jane Smith, also received a nomination.

The plot featured two strangers trying to carry out high-risk missions every week for their mysterious spy agency while maneuvering the complexities of their arranged marriage, which became almost impossible when they caught real feelings for each other.

The Emmy award-winning actor has had tough times with his alter ego. In 2018, he sued his former record label, Glassnote Entertainment, over unpaid loyalties.

The Blast reported that Glover claimed that Glassnote terminated their contract with him after he released several successful projects, which earned them tons of profits and even earned him Grammy nominations.

He disclosed that he decided to conduct an audit on the label and discovered they failed to pay him digital transmission royalties, miscalculated fees owed from Canada profits, and underreported international revenues.

The "3005" rapper also claimed that they misreported his merch sales and took excess deductions from his profit. He sued them for breach of contract and stated that he was owed $700,000 in streaming royalties.

Donald Glover Landed A 'Star Wars' Movie Role Last Year

The movie industry is not a stranger to Glover. Just last year, the star and his brother Stephen Glover announced that their "Star Wars" series "Lando" will be filmed as a movie instead of the initial Disney+ series.

Glover spilled the tea on the "Pablo Torre Finds Out" podcast, sharing that the WGA writer's strike at the time stalled the filming process.

The Blast gathered that the Glover brothers took over the script writing for Lando after Justin Simien of "Haunted Mansion" dropped the project. In fact, playing Lando has been on Glover's mood board since 2018. The actor declared:

"It would always be fun to be Lando again. The movie, I feel like, is wide open. This part of the universe without theā€¦ I feel like with the Skywalkers, it's hard because it's almost like the Bible. There's a story that you have to tell and the lineage of that family."

Congratulations to Glover on his Emmy nominations and we can not wait to check out his new album!
