Ryan Anderson, the estranged husband of ex-convict Gypsy Rose Blanchard, is answering questions from fans as each "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up" airs.
As The Blast reported, Lifetime kept up with Gypsy Rose's post-prison release, capturing her journey of tying the knot with Ryan, parting ways with the special education teacher, and rekindling things with her former fiancé-turned-boyfriend, Ken Urker. She was serving a ten-year sentence for her involvement in her mother's murder.
Now that Ryan Anderson is going through his divorce from Gypsy Rose Blanchard, he is opening up about his past relationships, claiming he had almost married once before.
Diving Into Ryan Anderson's Dating History
During a live video on TikTok, Ryan said he had "three serious relationships that lasted three years or more" and that he "almost married [his] second one." He also claimed she "had a kid," and they split because he felt that he was "too young" to become a stepfather.
The special education teacher claimed he met her when he was 22, and they reportedly dated for four years. It's unclear who this woman is, but fans are eager for her to come forward and shed light on Ryan's behavior in their relationship, especially since he's been described as "controlling" and "overbearing" during his marriage to Gypsy.
The Special Education Teacher Is Labeled As 'Insecure'
"Ryan is so insecure with himself he is crossing the boundaries," one individual said after watching Ryan's behavior on the Lifetime docuseries. "He's supposed to be watching the road while driving, not all up in her phone wondering who she's texting. He is just like Gypsy's mom."
"Once she said she was texting her sister, he should have shut the f-ck up!" another expressed in response to the fifth episode when the couple was driving in the car. "[He] wanted to know what she was texting.. he is CREEPY AF."
Fans Begin To Question Ryan Anderson's Behavior
After watching new episodes of "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up," several viewers began to rally behind Gypsy Rose Blanchard, pointing out numerous "red flags" they noticed in Ryan Anderson's behavior.
"Ryan, this first episode, you lost my vote too overbearing, controlling, and the cringy rubbing on her," one social media user said. You could tell it made her uncomfortable."
"He tries speaking for her, just like her mom would do," another TikTok user expressed.
"That's not protective behavior. It is absolutely controlling, and you speak to her in a condescending manner," a third fan said.
The Ex-Convict Announces Her Separation From Ryan
Three months after Gypsy was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, she moved out of her place with Ryan and into her parents' home.
"People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents' home down the bayou," she wrote in a statement obtained by People Magazine from her private Facebook account. "I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am."
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Says She Felt 'Lost' In Her Marriage
Following her split from Ryan Anderson, Gypsy reflected on what it was like towards the end of their relationship.
“I’d describe the Gypsy-Rose who went into prison as someone who was very lost and confused,” the 32-year-old told People Magazine. “Now she’s a little bit more wise, has a little bit more experience under her belt and is still very hopeful for the future.”
“I think that there is a sense of freedom of following your heart, following what you feel like is right for you,” she continued. “In my marriage [to Ryan], I felt like a part of me was lost in it, and so I feel like I found that missing piece of myself that I always felt was lost and now reclaiming that back. I definitely feel a sense of belonging in that space.”
“It’s heartbreaking because no one gets married to get a divorce,” she added. “Processing those emotions has been hard.”
Gypsy is now expecting her first child with her current boyfriend, Ken Urker.
