Angelina Jolie is ready to move on from the bitter legal disputes with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

Through her lawyer, the star actress recently issued a plea for peace concerning their French winery, Château Miraval, urging Pitt to end the hostilities. The winery conflict has been a source of tension between the former lovebirds since they split in 2016.

Angelina Jolie's plea for peace is coming after months of accusations, with both sides painting very different pictures of the situation.

The former couple purchased the winery in 2008 as equal partners.  However, tensions flared after Jolie decided to sell her share in 2021. Since then, they've been embroiled in a bitter legal dispute.

Despite the contentious nature of their legal battle, Jolie remains hopeful for a resolution. In a statement released on Wednesday, Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, highlighted the actress' need to settle with Pitt amicably for the sake of their family's well-being.

According to Murphy, "While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong."

The attorney also accused Pitt of using the legal proceedings to exert control over Jolie per ET. Murphy pointed out that the actor attempted to impose a newly expanded non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to cover up alleged personal misconduct and abuse.

"Those actions are central to these proceedings. We are not at all surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents demonstrating these facts," Murphy asserted.

Pitt and Jolie's contentious winery battle took a dramatic turn, with accusations surfacing that the actor might be using the lawsuit to get back at his ex-wife. This theory stemmed from a claim by a source close to Jolie, as reported by The Blast in May.

The source alleged that Pitt's insistence on uncovering eight years of NDAs during the legal proceedings was a strategic move, not a genuine pursuit of information.

According to the insider, the "Fight Club" star "and his team know that these NDAs are never going to see the light of day at trial."

Furthermore, the source suggested that Pitt's actions are financially motivated, aiming to "drain her resources and punish her for leaving."

Jolie's accusation that Pitt's winery lawsuit is a revenge tactic ignited a war of words between the former couple's legal teams.

Pitt's team responded to the NDA accusation, claiming it was the mother-of-six who first brought the NDA issue into the court proceedings. A source close to Pitt refuted the "punish" claim, stating:

"The other side introduced the NDA issue into what is a straightforward business dispute, so it's ironic that they are now complaining about it."

The insider further emphasized their stance, suggesting Jolie's side financially benefited from a business decision that violated their initial agreement. In their words:

"And they are the ones who were greatly enriched from violating the parties' agreement in selling the business."

Part of Jolie's push for an amicable resolution in her legal battle with Pitt may stem from a desire to mend the strained relationship between the actor and his older children.

The exes share Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara,19; Shiloh,18; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.

The Blast shed light on the strained dynamic, with reports alleging that Pitt has had "virtually no contact" with his older kids for a significant period.

In contrast, Pitt reportedly maintains "visitation" with the younger twins, Vivienne and Knox, although Jolie retains primary custody.

In a significant move reflecting ongoing family tensions, Pitt and Jolie's 18-year-old filed a petition to legally drop "Pitt" from her last name, just three days after celebrating her milestone birthday.

Court documents obtained by The Blast revealed that Shiloh, now seeking to be known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie, hired her own legal representation to expedite the name change.

Sources close to the family suggested that her motivation for the name change stemmed from past custody disputes between her parents following their divorce.

Whether Brad Pitt will accept Angelina Jolie's olive branch or reach a resolution remains to be seen, but a glimmer of hope for a peaceful end to the pair's legal war seems to have emerged.
