Brandi Redmond will be seen admitting to being nervous around Dr. Tiffany Moon, her first Asian castmate, on tonight’s new episode of “The Real Housewives of Dallas” season five.
In a sneak peek at the episode shared by E! News on March 2, Redmond reveals that she feels paranoid while shooting scenes with Dr. Moon, who has added to the cast months ago, due to the Asian video scandal she was involved in 2020.
When the preview begins, Redmond is seen asking Dr. Moon if she feels “awkward” around her.
Brandi Redmond Received Grace From Dr. Tiffany Moon
“No. Do you feel awkward around me?” Dr. Moon responds.
According to Redmond, she feels “very guarded” when it comes to their relationship “because of the video” she made.
“Have I ever led you to believe that I think you are racist?” Dr. Moon asks.
In Redmond’s video, which was made years ago and resurfaced early last year, Redmond was seen seemingly poking fun at Asians by talking with an accent and squinting her eyes.
Despite the scandal, Redmond confirms that Dr. Moon has given her “a lot of grace.”
Brandi Redmond Wants To Be Herself
While Dr. Moon has given Redmond no real reason to feel uneasy around her, Redmond explains that when it comes to their group outings, she’s a bit scared to be herself when the doctor is around.
“I feel like, sometimes when I’m around all of us and, with you there, I just feel like I want to be completely, authentically me in front of you,” she shares.
“In some ways, I’m like, ‘Gosh, is she being honest with the way that she feels right off the bat?'” she continues.
Brandi Redmond Fears Dr. Tiffany Moon Is Judging Her
Right away, Dr. Moon assures Redmond that she never thought her video was made in an attempt to “make others feel badly about themselves.”
“I mean, I’m so sorry to come to this,” Redmond explains. “But like, I wanted you to understand where I was coming from. I want to be myself in front of you.”
Redmond goes on to say that she’s been “holding back” with Dr. Moon because she’s “paranoid” that Dr. Moon is judging her.
But that’s not the case.
Dr. Tiffany Moon Doesn’t Have Any Ill Feelings Towards Brandi Redmond
“Girl, no. I’m not judging you,” Dr. Moon insists. “I’m really not. I’m not just saying that. The whole racist thing, this whole whatever thing, I wish you wouldn’t think so ill of me. That you would give me a chance.”
The doctor then tells Redmond she believes she’s “a great mother,” “a great friend,” and “a great dancer.”
