Richard Simmons did not just leave behind a legacy for his loved ones.

New information has revealed that the fitness expert left behind a whopping seven-figure real estate inheritance for his beneficiaries.

Richard Simmons died after suffering a nasty fall in his Los Angeles home on Saturday, which was the day after his 76th birthday.

According to real estate companies, the late fitness icon's mansion, which consists of a four-bedroom, five-bathroom home with a whopping 4,119 square feet that housed him for decades, is worth a huge sum of money.

Simmons was certified as the owner of the property, which was calculated to be worth between 4.9 million and 5.4 million dollars and was listed on its paperwork as far back as 1989.

InTouch shared that he also once owned a 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom home in West Hollywood, but he sold it years ago.

A panic call came from his home around 10 a.m. on Saturday, and upon law enforcement's arrival, the legend was declared dead; so far, no foul play was suspected, as an earlier fall on Friday evening may have played a considerable role in his demise.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner's officer has since conducted an autopsy, but the cause of his death is yet to be announced.

Simmons Celebrated His 76th Birthday A Day Before Death

The icon shared the news of his 76th birthday on his Facebook page, which was well received by his fans, who sent their prayers and well wishes. The lengthy caption for his birthday read:

"When I taught class at Slimmons, on my birthday they would have special cakes made for me. One was a sheet cake airbrushed with my picture on it…….one was a Barbie doll and her dress was the cake……also what about that cake with a big Disco ball on top. It was my birthday when we taped Groovin in the House . …that one was a three-dimensional three-foot cake in the shape of one of my DalmatiansYou know I cried," and ended with him thanking the public for their wishes on Facebook and other platforms.

However, in a sad turn of events over the weekend, his brother took to social media to console thousands of fans devastated by Simmons's death, urging them not to be sad but instead "remember him for the genuine joy and love he brought to people's lives."

Lenny Simmons continued that the icon truly cared about people and "called, wrote, and emailed thousands of people throughout his career to offer help."

He concluded his post by encouraging the fans to celebrate his life and grant the family privacy as they go through the difficult time. He disclosed that Simmons was excited about all the ventures he was working on.

While shared that the cause of his death has not been disclosed yet, The Blast reported that the former fitness instructor shared that he recently went in for a painful treatment for skin cancer on his face shortly before his death.

Simmons disclosed this to fans as part of his efforts to bring awareness to everyone about the importance of going in for routine health checks, adding:

"I know some of you reading this have had cancer or have known someone in your life who has had cancer. Promise me you will see your doctor and get a complete check-up."

He concluded his post by encouraging everyone to tell their loved ones how much they love them and share close hugs with people and their children, as "a big hug really goes a long way."

Since retiring from the spotlight years ago, Simmons has grown fond of posting on his social media platforms to communicate with his fans, who have also established relationships with him there.

Simmons' Last Post Before His Death

The star dropped a post on his Facebook timeline shortly before his death was announced on Saturday morning with the caption, "Hello gorgeous, Please don't rain on my parade."

The engagement on his final post soon increased upon hearing of his passing as fans shared their condolences and love for the late celebrity.

One user wrote, "You inspired me…you are now a true Angel!" Another person added, "Your positive attitude was such a bright light. You will be so missed." An enthusiastic fan wrote:

"I wish I could have met you. I wish we could have had more time with you. You did so much good in this world, Richard. You helped more people than you know. I feel very strongly that you lived with such passion for helping others. My heart is going out to your close friends, family and all that you love now. I couldn't be more shocked than I am right now. rest peacefully."

The 76-year-old was found on the bathroom floor by his housekeeper, who offered to call emergency service for medical attention but was stopped by Simmons, who claimed he wanted to spend his birthday indoors.

The Blast noted that the housekeeper disclosed that Simmons complained of feeling slightly dizzy before crashing on the bathroom floor but insisted on being helped back into his bed, promising to check in to the hospital on Saturday.

Simmons ruled the fitness scene in the 70s and 80s, featuring in numerous videos geared towards making people lose weight and stay healthy in a fun way.

Tributes are still pouring on his Facebook, a testament that he truly lived an iconic life!
