Prince William has reportedly drawn a line in the sand between himself and his brother, Prince Harry, amid a strained relationship.
Since the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped away from their royal roles in 2020, they have made scathing allegations against the royal family, which has caused a growing rift between both camps.
Prince William is now understood to have taken a "tough and resolute" stand on his broken relationship with Prince Harry and has reportedly "banned" him from returning to the royal fold.
Prince William Remains 'Resolute' In His Feud With His Brother Prince Harry
William and Harry's once-close bond has deteriorated into a public feud after he and his wife, Meghan, made several bombshell accusations against the royal family.
The warring brothers have not spoken in years, and royal commentator Jennie Bond disclosed that the Prince of Wales is bent on keeping it that way, as he has now taken a decisive stance on the issue.
"William has always been a strong character," Bond told OK! Magazine. "I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision."
She continued, "He is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway. Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it's true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on a number of issues, including [Princes] Andrew and Harry."
Prince William Placed An 'Absolute Ban' On Prince Harry
There's seemingly no going back for William after reports surfaced suggesting that he's placed a "ban" on Harry returning to the royal family. However, he is unlikely to get into a war of words over the matter with his father, King Charles III, who is understood to be keeping the door open for the Duke of Sussex's return.
Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that the future King is taking a no-nonsense approach to his feud with Harry and has placed an "absolute ban" on his return.
"It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape, or form into his former royal family fold," she told the news outlet.
Fordwich continued, "If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles, whom, of course, Prince William won't challenge, who still misses his 'darling boy' and would like to see more of Prince Harry."
"However, to this day, after the release of 'Spare' and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it's Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother" she added.
Prince William Is Using A 'Disciplinarian' Method On His Younger Brother
William is allegedly following in his late grandfather Prince Phillip's footsteps and has taken on the "enforcer" role in the royal family.
Philip was known for his stand on strict adherence to protocol within the royal fold and ensured that the monarchy ran smoothly as he employed an iron-hand approach to his leadership.
A source told The Daily Beast that William is taking cues from the former Duke of Edinburgh and has assumed the mantle of the family's "disciplinarian," particularly with his estranged brother.
"There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role," the insider shared. "Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed. Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline."
The insider added that although King Charles would like to see more of Harry, William maintains a firm approach, which, according to the insider, "tells you everything you need to know about who is really in charge."
The Royal Family Is Being Urged To 'Sever Ties' With The Sussexes
In the face of the recent health challenges that have plagued King Charles and Kate Middleton, the future King was forced to step up and take on more responsibilities to keep the monarchy running amid Harry and Meghan's absence.
As Charles and Kate continue to recover from their respective cancer diagnosis and have progressively returned to public-facing duties, royal commentator Dee Dee Dunleavy urged the royal family to sever ties with Harry and Meghan to avoid further controversies.
"There's talk that William is the enforcer, the tough guy of the royal family. King Charles is a pushover, I think he'd take Harry back in a heartbeat," she told Sky News Australia. "William's taken on the role that Prince Phillip had, he was the tough guy. I can see William's point of view as well, he's more protective of the upset that Harry caused while the Queen was in her dying weeks."
"That's probably why William has such a strong feeling toward Harry, but I just can't see [Prince Harry rejoining the family] happening," she continued. "If they're not former royals and can't keep referring to that, then all Meghan's little schemes to make money, they're clearly not worth anything."
The Duke Is Allegedly 'Heartbroken' About Being Shunned By The Royal Family
Harry reportedly feels "confused" about why he and Meghan have been distanced from the royal family and are "heartbroken" over not being invited to Trooping the Colour.
"He's heartbroken and confused by the way they've cut him off and seemingly haven't given it another thought," the insider told Closermagazine.
The source mentioned Harry was particularly emotional when seeing footage of Kate at the event as he has been concerned about her following her cancer announcement.
"Harry was very upset and emotional when he saw the footage of Kate [Middleton] at Trooping the Colour," the insider shared, per the New York Post. "Whilst he has managed to connect with her on a few occasions, it's not nearly as often as he'd like."
They added, "He would have dearly loved to have been there if only to congratulate and support Kate in person on what must have been an incredibly difficult day for her."
