Dove Cameron excitedly promoted her latest interview by sharing some gorgeous pics on social media, Monday, March 1. The star opened up about her mental health journey with Beat Route and posed for some high-fashion shots that made her fans drool all over their phones. While the photos are noteworthy enough, it was the confidence exhumed from her poses and her words that seemed to get her excited to share. She also revealed that the words of the great RuPaul helped her out along the way!

Beat Route's interview touched on the fact that "The Descendants" actress has embraced who she is and carries herself with confidence. That's certainly how it appeared in her shirtless pic for the article. She captioned the confident shot with a single heart emoji, but that was enough for her 39.8-million followers. Perrie Edwards wrote, "My gf is hot af," while actress Claudia Sulewski commented, "where do I sign up."

A few funny followers tried to earn Dove's favor with jokes. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?!?????" one fan wrote. "Hands up, it’s a robbery," another wrote, trying to trick the star innocently.

One of the most interesting parts of the interview was when Dove said that RuPaul's advice helps her when she doubts herself. “As a hero of mine, RuPaul Charles likes to say, our inner saboteur is constantly present. Everybody has moments when they think, ‘Woah, I’m the worst, I’m a fraud, I’m never going anywhere, everyone hates me.’” Dove continued to explain that the "inner saboteur" notion made it possible for her to recognize the value of her own opinions when it comes to art. She also professed her love for "RuPaul's Drag Race."

The singer may be confident now, but that wasn't always the case. Cameron claims she was bullied at Bainbridge Island, Washington, middle school, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her acting/singing career. She admitted to telling white lies about how successful she was at the time. “I was like, ‘I’m leveling up! I’m going to be a big actress, and in fact, I’ve already booked my own show,’” Dove confessed to the publication. “I was so stubborn about what I wanted my life to look like that I thought, ‘If I say it out loud, it will come true.’”

Her dreams did seem to come true when she landed the gig on the Disney show, "Liv & Maddie," but her life hasn't been all hearts and rainbows. Dove dealt with tragedy and loss early on in life, and she has been in therapy since the age of eight. She now seems determined to normalize grief and share her healing journey to help others.
