Jamie Lee Curtis broke her silence on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump over the weekend.
As The Blast previously reported, chaos unfolded at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday after the former President was grazed by a bullet, leaving his face bloodied. As the Secret Service covered Trump and brought him to safety, the 78-year-old pumped his fist in the air and yelled "fight" several times.
A photojournalist captured the moment, and the image has now gone viral--and Jamie Lee Curtis is praising the man who snapped the picture of Donald Trump.

On Sunday, the "Halloween" actress shared the viral photo, taken by Doug Mills from The New York Times, on her Instagram page, along with a lengthy caption.
"Throughout history, at least recorded history, photographic images have changed the course of our lives," Curtis began. "The young Jewish boy, with his hands held high in the Warsaw ghetto, the young Vietnamese girl burned by napalm, the harrowing images from the assassinations of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy, the January 6th insurrection and most recently the image of Noa Argamani at the music festival in Israel."
"I've been privileged to get to know so many photojournalists who bring us images that are hard to see but are even harder to unsee, which often bring about tectonic political change," the actress continued before naming Doug Mills from The New York Times.
"The image that Doug Mills from the New York Times took [on Saturday] at the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, will be the galvanizing image of this political campaign and our collective history," Curtis said, praising the photojournalist. "The work of a photojournalist is often undervalued, and their work is part of the required aspects of public life, but it's times like this where the art of the photographer and the reality of the moment combine to make an image that will change history."
The Attempted Assassination Of Donald Trump Leaves The Nation In Shock
Shortly after the 78-year-old took the stage at the Pennsylvania rally, gunshots were heard, prompting Secret Service agents to quickly move to the former President's side and seek cover behind the podium. Blood was visible on Trump's right ear as he was escorted to an SUV for safety.
He was treated at a nearby hospital and is fortunately in good condition. Sadly, the incident resulted in the death of one rally attendee. The gunman, who was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was also shot dead by the Secret Service.

On Monday, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said that the agency is working with federal, state, and local agencies βto understand what happened, how it happened, and how we can prevent an incident like this from ever taking place again.β
Additionally, an FBI official stated that the agencyβs investigation has not uncovered any mental health problems, threatening posts, or motives tied to the 20-year-old gunman. He appears to have acted alone.
According to a college spokesperson, Crooks graduated in May with an associateβs degree in engineering science from the Community College of Allegheny County in western Pennsylvania.
The Former President Confirms He Was 'Shot With A Bullet'
Following the attempted assassination, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to break his silence.
βI was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear," he wrote in part. "I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening."
