Melissa Gorga is responding after being labeled a "farm animal," along with husband Joe Gorga, by Joseph Wakile, the son of Joe's cousin, Kathy Wakile, and her husband, Richard Wakile.
According to a report shared byPage Six on March 1, the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast member weighed in on the diss, saying she suspects the family is simply “sour” that they are no longer featured on the Bravo reality series.
As the outlet explained, Gorga addressed the topic on "Watch What Happens Live."
The Wakiles Were Featured On 'RHONJ' For Three Seasons
“Look, I know they are a little sour about not being on the show any longer, and it’s unfortunate, to be honest,” she said. “I wish them all well; I love the Wakile children.”
As fans of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" will recall, Gorga and her family, along with the Wakiles, joined the cast for season three in 2011. However, while the Gorgas have remained on the show ever since, the Wakiles were removed from their full-time positions on the show after season five in 2013.
Joseph Wakile Dissed The Gorgas In The Comments Section Of A Wedding Photo
Last month, after Victoria Wakile got married, her 24-year-old brother, Joseph, responded to an Instagram post shared by Page Six, which included a message about her nuptials and noted that both Gorga and her husband, Joe, were not in attendance.
“Lmao we cut those farm animals out of our life years ago that’s why they weren’t in attendance,” Joseph wrote in response.
Days later, during last Wednesday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live," Gorga told host Andy Cohen that she is “so happy” for Victoria, despite not getting an invite to her wedding.
Melissa Gorga Believes The Diss May Have Been Misdirected
Gorga also described Victoria as a “beautiful bride” while adding that Joseph’s comments were “very shocking” to her due to the fact that the two of them have “always had a great relationship."
Gorga went on to say that Joseph may have mistakenly called her and husband Joe "farm animals" by mistake and noted that he may have actually meant to use the diss towards Teresa Giudice and her former husband, Joe Giudice.
That said, Joseph has not yet confirmed or denied any such thing.
Kathy Wakile Was A 'Friend' On 'RHONJ' After Appearing Full-Time
While the Wakiles stopped being featured on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" in full-time roles after the popular series' fifth season, they continued to appear on the show from time to time in the two seasons that followed in part-time roles.
Over the years, Giudice has frequently said that she felt betrayed when the Wakiles joined the show behind her back.
To see more of Gorga and her family, don't miss new episodes of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" season 11 on Wednesday nights at 9/8c on Bravo.
