24-year-old Anya Taylor-Joy has just become yet another over-achieving actress in a long line of talent to come, having won a Golden Globe for her performance in "The Queen's Gambit", which critics called "darkly fascinating".
And not only did she receive the award in style, although she was not present in person for the ceremony, she also did it wearing a chess-inspired manicure that has suddenly become all the rage in the world.
Apparently, looking like a queen, who can checkmate, comes easy to Anya Taylor-Joy!
Green, With Envy?
While Joy has always been a joy to look at, excuse the pun, she credits Law Roach, a celebrity stylist as her fairy godmother. And in a dazzling Dior dress in the deepest, most gorgeous shade of green, Anya is stunning.
The reason why she wrote, "Thank you thank you THANK YOU for my dress of dreams to the wonderful team at @dior , @diormakeup and my fairy godfather @luxurylaw . Green for Beth, green for Emma , green for me :)"...
Diamonds Are Anya's BFF
Here's another of Anya's pics, looking like an absolute dream, dripping in diamonds, as they say. And she got the joke too, as she wrote, "*insert Marilyn singing... you guessed it... * Diamonds are a girl's best friend at the Globes. Bisous @tiffanyandco ?✨"
Fans found her to be unbelievably gorgeous to the point of being unreal, writing, "If you stepped on me I would apologize to you".
For others, "the Oscar was hers", even though she won the Golden Globes for TV! Clearly, when it comes to her fans, she is the ultimate.
The Queen's Gambit, For Real
Look closely enough at her hands, and you can spot the chess-board nail, something that you are likely to see on many women's hands in the coming few days.
And this also shows that Anya Taylor-Joy has also become quite the trendsetter!
Plus, it seems even Halsey isn't immune to a video shot well with a great song playing in the background which is why she commented, "I needed this audio over this video. To die for!".
The song is "Dior" by Popsmoke...
In Love With Chess, & Movies...
For those who have not watched this miniseries that airs on Netflix, the Queen's Gambit is based on an 893 book by Walter Tevis and shows the life and struggles of orphan Beth Harmon, who is a chess prodigy and yet, addicted to substance abuse.
The miniseries quickly rose to fame on Netflix and is well received by critics and the audience alike, with Joy's performance often described as riveting.
Here's her, thanking the jury for the Golden Globe in her own, joyful way!
