Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson recently revealed she "blacked out" when her photo appeared on "Saturday Night Live" during her husband Colin Jost's joke swap segment. Jost often tests his jokes on her, which have evolved into dad jokes.
Johansson and Jost began dating in 2017, married in 2020, and have a son, Cosmo. They recently attended the "Fly Me to the Moon" premiere.
Scarlett Johansson also recently confirmed her long-desired role in the upcoming "Jurassic World" film, expressing immense excitement as a lifelong fan.
Why Scarlett Johansson 'Blacked Out' During Colin Jost's Joke Swap Segment On 'SNL'
On Thursday's episode of the "Kelly Clarkson Show," Johansson revealed that she "blacked out" when she saw her photo on "Saturday Night Live" during her husband Colin Jost's annual joke swap segment on Weekend Update in May.
Recounting the experience, the actress said: "That's like a tame version if you guys have ever seen the jokes. As soon as they showed my picture, I — I actually don't remember that segment. I fully blacked out."
During every "SNL" season finale, Jost and co-host Michael Che write jokes for each other that they haven't seen before.
This time, Che, as per tradition, got Jost to tease Johansson. Jost joked, "ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson's AI character in 'Her,'" before adding, "Which I've never bothered to watch, because without that body, what's the point of listening?"
While speaking to Clarkson, Johansson remarked, "We need to, like, go into witness protection that night. Like, I am absolutely terrified we're gonna be targeted. It's so bad." She added: "It is brutal. I feel like every year it gets worse."
Colin Jost Tests His Jokes On His Wife Before Saying Them On 'SNL'
Last year, Johansson mentioned to Clarkson that Jost sometimes tests his jokes on her first.
"He'll love a play on words or a pun that have now become dad jokes," she explained. "They used to be just like duds, and now they're dads."
Johansson and Jost tied the knot in October 2020, as announced by Meals on Wheels America on Instagram.
"We're thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC," the post read.
The organization shared that the couple wanted their small wedding to support a good cause and that "their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica."
Scarlett Johansson And Colin Jost Attend 'Fly Me to the Moon' Premiere
Johansson and Jost began their relationship in 2017 and got engaged in 2019. They welcomed their son, Cosmo, in 2021, a year after their wedding. Johansson is also mother to 9-year-old Rose, from her previous marriage to French journalist Romain Dauriac.
Recently, the couple attended the "Fly Me to the Moon" New York premiere together, where Johansson stars alongside Channing Tatum, and Jost makes a cameo appearance.
During a segment on "The Tonight Show," the Marvel star talked about her husband's surprise appearance in the film: "Greg Berlanti, our director, is a huge fan of Colin's."
She continued, "Colin ... I think he had to do it because it's, like, in our prenuptial agreement. If I ask him to do something, he has to be there to support me. He has to be in every one of my films."
Scarlett Johansson Joins' Jurassic World' Franchise After A Decade of Pursuit
After confirming her role in the upcoming fourth installment of "Jurassic World," Johansson, in an interview with ComicBook.com, shared that the opportunity has been a long time coming.
"I've been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over 10 years," the Oscar-nominated actor revealed. "I'm like, 'I'll die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by whatever! I'll do the craft service!' I'll do anything for it."
She added, "The fact that it's happened … is actually unbelievable. I can't believe it."
When asked what attracted her to the "Jurassic World" saga, she responded, "Everything."
"I'm an enormous' Jurassic Park' fan," Johansson explained. "It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was, like, life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am."
How The Hollywood Star Stays In Shape
Johansson has her size two figure to thank for some major acting roles, including "Black Widow" in the MCU. During an interview with Stylist, the 38-year-old noted that working out is as essential for her "mental wellbeing" as it is for her physical body.
The "Ghost in the Shell" actress exercises up to "four days a week" and specifically loves Pilates.
She said, "I've been doing Pilates for the last eight years or so, and I've found it to be amazing."
The actress, who used to focus on "just lifting weights," replaced it with Pilates. She realized that it was better for her body and "recovery" at her age.
Johansson added, per Daily Mail, "I think it's just getting older and having my body change, but Pilates really helped me feel better in all ways. I do classes with a couple of different instructors, and I've been incorporating some weightlifting a little bit more again. I think I'm better at it now because of Pilates."
