King Charles Splurges On $6.63M Luxury NYC Condo Amid Royal Rift With The Sussexes

It appears that King Charles III has made a royal splash on luxurious New York City real estate property after his name was seen on the title deed of a recent purchase.

It remains to be seen who would actually inhabit the property, as the deed mentioned Canada in an apparent purchase for the nation.

The 75-year-old monarch, King Charles, recently congratulated the English team after they beat the Netherlands in their keenly contested semi-final match at the Euro 2024 competition.

According to the New York Post, King Charles has acquired a sprawling New York real estate property at 111 W. 57th St for $6.63 million.

The property, unit 11A on the 11th floor of the development's Steinway Hall portion, is a 3,601-square-foot apartment with three bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It also has city views and access to a swanky swimming pool and sauna.

Records show that Robert McCubbing, senior trade commissioner and director of trade and investment at the Canadian consulate in New York, signed the deed on behalf of King Charles, with the deed listing "His Majesty the King in Right of Canada, Represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs" as the owner.

The property also comes with an 82-foot two-lane swimming pool with private cabanas, a separate sauna and treatment rooms, a double-height fitness center with a mezzanine terrace, a private dining room and chef's catering kitchen, and a residents' lounge with an expansive balcony.

Charles praised his son Prince William when he gave a speech at the Welsh parliament in Cardiff on July 11, marking the 25th anniversary of devolution from the U.K. government.

According to People magazine, Charles was joyful about the country's special relationship with William, the Prince of Wales.

"It has given me great pleasure to see my son's relationship with this special land continue, including returning only this week to Anglesey, Ynys Môn, a place which I know means so much to him," King Charles said in the address.

"So, it is with countless special memories and particular pride that I am able to join you as we reflect upon the last quarter-century of the history we have shared, and which you, in your work in this Senedd, have the great responsibility of making," he added.

While Charles and William's relationship has continued to thrive, that of his estranged son leaves more to be desired.

Charles is understood to be tired of Harry's antics and is distancing himself from the Duke of Sussex. Royal commentator shared that he did so because he wants to prioritize his health as he continues to recover from an earlier cancer diagnosis.

"I think it really is practicalities," Cole told GB News. "The king is facing an unspecified cancer. That is really a harrowing thing for any person to do."

He continued, "At the same time, he is the head of state and he has to maintain his duties and be out and be seen. He doesn't want his equilibrium to be upset."

"It is upsetting to him that his younger son has said such heartless and cruel things, not just about himself, but about Queen Camilla, and that has gone home harder than anything else he could do," Cole shared.

Cole added that Charles finds the debacle with Harry "emotionally upsetting" and "doesn't want to be bothered" by it.

He said, "I think any physician will tell you when you're undergoing treatment of this kind, the best thing to be is relaxed and clear your own mind."

"Let the physicians do their work, and get better as soon as possible, that is what he wants to do. It has been upsetting for him to see," Cole concluded.

King Charles also expressed his joy with the English national team at the ongoing Euro 2024 competitor after they edged their Dutch rivals to qualify for the finals, where they'll play Spain.

According to the Daily Mail, Charles sent the players the royal family's "very best wishes" and "warmest congratulations. However, he jokingly warned The Three Lions to watch out for the nation's blood pressure levels and avoid "more penalties drama."

He said, "My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship - and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday's match."

"If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder-goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation's collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated!" he added.
