Matthew McConaughey Mixes Up A Buzzworthy Cocktail Amid Bee Sting

Matthew McConaughey recently had a run-in with a bee, and the outcome was far from alright, alright, alright. The entire right side of the actor's face was more inflated than a Texas football on game day, but true to his laid-back style, the "Failure To Launch" star took it all in stride.

In addition to sharing a jaw-dropping selfie, Matthew McConaughey is now releasing his very own cocktail inspired by the bee sting.

Last year, McConaughey and his wife announced the release of a new tequila brand called Pantalones.

“We’re precious about our tequila, not our pants,” he and his wife, Camila said in a statement, per People. “With the explosion in popularity of tequila, there’s a level of snootiness that’s crept into the category. People now talk about tequila the way they talk about wine. While we’re all for being passionate about tequila, we wanted to remind people that, above all, it’s meant to be fun."

“That’s where the name Pantalones came from and that’s why you won’t see us wearing any," they added.

The Pantalones Tequila portfolio includes three bottles.

On Wednesday, the "Sing" voice actor posted a selfie on his Instagram and other social media accounts with the caption "Bee Swell," leaving fans completely stunned. Despite managing a smile, it was impossible to overlook the discomfort he must have been experiencing, as the entire right side of his face was noticeably swollen.

"At least it was your all right, all right, all right, all right eye!" one fan said after seeing the now-viral photo while, as another X user simply said, "Beehave!"

"Wow, that’s a swelling to bee sure (sorry). Hope it gets better soon," another wrote, as a third commented, "To Bee or not to Bee... that's the question."

After fans saw the post, comments poured in, with many expressing disbelief at what they were seeing.

"Keep on, smiling on there, McConaughey!! Legends last longer than bee stings! Remember that!" one of his actor's fans wrote.

"At least you're still smiling. Stay away from the bees!!! They appear to be out to get you!" another follower said.

It is unclear where the actor was when he got stung, but he has been vocal about traveling a lot in the past.

"I’m on the road every weekend now," he told Pursuitist last month. "I’m on set in Louisiana for my new movie, but I drive home every weekend to be with my family. I got my new Navigator in January and I’ve already put 13,000 miles on it. Man, that’s a lot of miles, but I love it. I love the solitude. It’s great to have some time to myself."

Despite his unfortunate encounter with wildlife, Matthew McConaughey somehow manages to make a bee sting look cool.

In an attempt to make something good come out of something bad, Pantalones Organic Tequila, co-founded by McConaughey and his wife Camila, wants to toast to the boss and wish him a speedy recovery with a new cocktail – the Bee Sting.

The recipe was sent to The Blast! Here's how to make the new Bee Sting cocktail, inspired by Matthew McConaughey's recent run-in:

Ingredients

• 2 oz Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila,
• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
• 1 oz Honey Syrup,
• 1-2 Slices of Habanero Pepper (Garnish),
• Honey and Coarse Salt (Rim)

Instructions

1. Rim your coupe glass with honey, dip into coarse salt, and set aside.
2. To make your honey syrup, in a separate glass, combine half an ounce of honey and half an ounce of warm water and stir the magic.
3. In your shaker, combine Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila, lime juice, and your honey syrup.
4. Shake like you’re trying to swat a bee away.
5. Once you feel your pants loosening off, pour into your rimmed coupe glass.
6. Crown your cocktail with sliced habanero slices to bring the bee sting heat and sip up.
