Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker not only have baby names narrowed down, but they are already planning a baby shower!
The ex-convict, who spent the last eight and a half years behind bars for her involvement in the murder of her mom, recently rekindled her love with Ken, whom she was engaged to prior to marrying Ryan Anderson.
Three months after being released on parole, Gypsy announced her separation from Ryan, and shortly thereafter, she went public with her new relationship with Ken. Earlier this week, they revealed they are expecting their first child together.
As Ken Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard prepare for parenthood, they recently shared their baby registry and revealed their baby shower plans.
Gypsy Gets Ready To Transition Into Parenthood
On Tuesday, Gypsy Rose Blanchard dropped the baby bombshell news in a YouTube video.
"I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January 2025," she said. "You know it's still going to be a long journey ahead, but I'm up for it. I feel a shift in myself."
"When I found out that I was pregnant, none of anything else mattered; the drama on social media, the feud between creators and me, and all of that drama, it just all faded. It didn't matter anymore," she continued. "All that matters is that I'm healthy, the baby is healthy, and the relationship with Ken is healthy."
Following the announcement, Ken went live on TikTok, where he addressed several comments from fans.
Ken Urker Says They Are Planning A 'Big Event'
Not only did Ken Urker speak about the speculation that Gypsy's baby could be Ryan Anderson's based on timing, but he also revealed the two are planning a big baby shower!
Ken said that his brothers, sisters, and good friends from various cities will be in attendance, but Gypsy's family and extended family will also be there. He didn't spill any more details aside from the fact that it will be a "big event."
They do already have a baby registry, which includes a $250 rocking chair, a $215 diaper bag, a $600 Chicco Modular Travel System, a $529 Sorelle's Princeton Elite Panel Crib and Changer.
Gypsy Rose On Becoming A Mother Following Her Troubled Childhood
In her pregnancy announcement, Gypsy got emotional as she reflected on her childhood and what she went through being raised by her mother, who is believed to have Munchausen by proxy.
"It's not about anything other than the tiny little life that's inside you," she said as she held back tears.
"That you are now in charge of protecting and that little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that's yours and that you have to make sure you protect, you love, you take care of, and all of the things that I wish I could have had when I was little."
What Is Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy?
Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental health disorder in which a caregiver creates or causes illness in someone under their care to gain sympathy or attention.
As The Blast reported, Gypsy's mom, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, manipulated doctors into performing numerous unnecessary medical treatments and procedures on Gypsy, leading her daughter to believe she had multiple illnesses and disabilities.
This abuse continued for years until Gypsy, along with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, conspired to murder her mother in 2015.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Ready To Start A Family
After sharing the big baby news, Gypsy Rose told People Magazine that her mother told her she "was never going to get married, raise a family, have kids, or do any of that."
"So, to be here, standing on my own two feet and expecting my first baby, that's something I've reached as an achievement and a personal goal," she continued. "I thank God every day that I am now having this second chance at life with a kid of my own."
"The way my mother parented me is definitely not the way I'm going to be. We always say for the next generation, we want to be better than we were raised," the 32-year-old mom-to-be said. "And so, for me, I think that couldn't be any more truthful."
