Divorce Drama Intensifies For Gypsy Rose Blanchard After Pregnancy News

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is clearly excited about her pregnancy with Ken Urker, but she may have wanted to keep this news to herself because it seems that she just made her divorce from Ryan Anderson even messier.
As The Blast reported, the ex-convict separated from her husband, Ryan, three months after being released from prison and shortly thereafter, rekindled her love with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker.
The ex-convict dropped the baby bombshell news on Tuesday, telling the world she is 11 weeks pregnant and due in January 2025. The issue? Gypsy Rose Blanchard is still technically married to Ryan Anderson, and the state that she is believed to reside in - Missouri - won't finalize a divorce until after she has the baby.
Gypsy Rose Announces That She Is 11 Weeks Pregnant
As The Blast reported, Gypsy Rose released a YouTube video announcing, “I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now, and I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January 2025.”
"We're both very excited," she added. "This was not planned at all; it was completely unexpected, but we're both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood."
"You know it's still going to be a long journey ahead, but I'm up for it. I feel a shift in myself," Gypsy continued. "When I found out that I was pregnant, none of anything else mattered; the drama on social media, the few between creator and me, and all of that drama, it just all faded. It didn't matter anymore. All that matters is that I'm healthy, the baby is healthy, and the relationship with Ken is healthy."
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Divorce Just Got Messier!
The 32-year-old moved in with Ryan in Louisiana as soon as she was released on parole in December, but after separating from the special education teacher, she moved out and is believed to be residing in Missouri. Under a Missouri statute, every petitioner for divorce is required to disclose their pregnancy status, per The Guardian.
Experts say that those who are pregnant are barred from legally dissolving their marriage. “The application [of the law] is an outright ban,” Danielle Drake, attorney at Parks & Drake, told The Guardian.
Two other states have similar laws: Texas and Arkansas.
Gypsy's Divorce From Ryan Could Be Delayed
If Gypsy still resides in Louisiana, there could still be complications, as a judge might postpone finalizing the divorce if the couple is expecting a child. The judge may prefer to wait until after the child's birth to address parenting matters along with the pregnancy-related aspects of the divorce.
So, regardless of whether Gypsy lives in Missouri or Louisiana, her divorce is more than likely to get delayed until after she has the baby.
Gypsy And Ryan's Divorce Is Messy, Messy, Messy
The divorce between Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson was already messy as there were allegations that Gypsy cheated on Ryan with Ken and allegations that Ryan was controlling and emotionally abusive.
After the rumors swirled and as each episode of Lifetime's docuseries "Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up" airs, Ryan stands by his truth, claiming that Gypsy is the one in the wrong and that outside influences had something to do with their divorce.
"I have so much that I need to say about my side of the story and what actually happened," Ryan expressed in a TikTok video. "A friend of mine told me I should write a book on my experiences. I don't know. Do I have a lot to say? Absolutely, but what are y'all thoughts? Would y'all read a book?"
"Let me tell you what it would be. It would be the truth," he added.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Felt 'Lost' In Her Marriage To Ryan Anderson
Gypsy Rose announced her separation from Ryan earlier this year. Months later, she opened up about how difficult it was to leave her marriage, but she felt she had no other choice.
"I think that there is a sense of freedom of following your heart, following what you feel like is right for you," she told People Magazine. "In my marriage, I felt like a part of me was lost in it, and so I feel like I found that missing piece of myself that I always felt was lost and now reclaiming that back. I definitely feel a sense of belonging in that space."
The 32-year-old has requested spousal support in her divorce filing.
