Marlon Wayans' Court Battle Over Secret Daughter Heats Up As Ex Demands Primary Physical Custody

Marlon Wayans' ex, Brittany Moreland, wants primary physical custody of their secret daughter, and naturally, the comedian is opposing it.

As the court proceedings intensify, Wayans is grappling with both the legal fight for his child and being the father of the year for his unwavering support for his queer child.

Marlon Wayans recently spoke out about their daughter's custody dispute, probably adding tension to an already challenging situation.

Wayans responded to his ex-partner's bid for primary physical custody of their child by advocating for joint physical and legal custody.

The legal tussle stems from Moreland's petition earlier this year in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeking to establish Wayans as the legal father and requesting primary custody.

In his retort, Wayans contested Moreland's request for him to cover all outstanding expenses related to her pregnancy and birth. He proposed instead that both parties share financial responsibility for these costs. 

Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that the 51-year-old has also urged the court not to grant Moreland's plea for him to cover her legal fees, insisting that each party should bear their own legal expenses.

Earlier in March, The Blast reported that Wayans addressed concerns regarding the public perception of his decision to keep Axl's private life away from social media. He emphasized his desire to protect her, stating:

"All love, all God. The baby isn't a secret. The mama has been posted. But I chose to keep the baby's private life private. Ain't nobody's business. Social media is toxic and dangerous, and I'd like to keep her peace."

The father-of-three also declined to express frustration over Moreland's $21,000 per month child support demand, choosing a positive outlook.

However, despite choosing to "remain in love and light," Wayans expressed dissatisfaction with his ex's request for primary physical and legal custody while limiting his role to visitation rights. 

"Do you pay all that money per month and be called a 'visitor'? Do the math," Wayans remarked, labeling the situation as "delusional."

The Hollywood veteran also criticized Moreland for seeking more than the $18,000 he had been paying monthly, describing her stance as "entitled."

Amidst these challenges, Wayans indicated he would leave the legal proceedings to his attorneys and divine intervention. 

Wayans' custody battle revealed that Axl's mother was requesting a substantial monthly sum of $22,080 to cover expenses related to their daughter. The report detailed Moreland's petition filed in court, outlining her financial needs and expectations.

The 34-year-old itemized the breakdown of these expenses, which included $5k for rent, $9k for food, daycare, and other miscellaneous costs. An extra $1,500 was allocated for Axl's clothing and program uniforms. 

Moreland also requested $2,000 per month designated as "child care," to help her return to work. In her petition, she pointed out Wayans' estimated monthly income of $200,000, underscoring her belief that the requested amount was justified. 

Amid ongoing custody battles, Wayans faced another setback as his Encino residence fell victim to a daring burglary. The Blast reported that the incident occurred last Saturday around 2:30 a.m. when Wayans was not at home.

Law enforcement sources shared that two intruders broke into the star's' property by entering through the backyard and shattering a back window. 

Interestingly, Wayans older brother, Keenen Ivory, who was present at the time, reportedly heard the noise of glass breaking but opted to return to sleep.

The robbery remained undetected by Keenan until Wayans staff returned to the property at approximately 8:00 a.m. that morning. 

The recent daring burglary of the TV personality's luxurious estate highlighted a sharp departure from the praise it received upon his acquisition two years ago. 

Purchased for $5.3 million, the sprawling 5,000-square-foot farmhouse-style home features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half baths.

It is designed with an expansive open-concept living space highlighted by a striking glass pivot front door and a double-sized doorway. 

The dining area is adorned with built-in cabinetry, leading to a sophisticated wet bar complete with ample storage for glassware and beverages.

Across from the bar, the sitting room exudes class with a floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace and sliding glass doors that open onto the serene backyard. 

The estate features additional amenities outdoors, including a dining area, swimming pool, spa, and fire pit. The guest house offers versatile potential and could be used as a home gym.
