MrBeast Contemplates Presidential Run Pending Key Legal Change

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is a popular YouTuber known for his stunts and generous donations.
He first gained fame for challenges in which he donated substantial amounts of money to help others and support charitable causes. His YouTube channel, "MrBeast," boasts millions of subscribers.
Now, as the country moves closer to the next presidential election, MrBeast says he would consider running for president, but one thing needs to change before that could happen.
Who Is Running For President?
With Donald Trump, 78, and Joe Biden, 81, the top two presidential candidates, many Americans wish there were a third option. Could that third option be the famous YouTuber MrBeast?
"If we lower the age to run for president, I’ll jump in the race," MrBeast wrote in an X post on July 6. According to the law, one must be at least 35 to enter a presidential race—the YouTuber is only 26.
The 26-year-old's post has since gone viral, gaining 7.8M views and 8.6K responses within just a few hours.
How Do Americans Feel About MrBeast's Possible Presidential Campaign?
While MrBeast cannot run for president at this time, many social media users still claim he would be the best option. "You would be better than Biden & Trump for all we know," one X user wrote.
"From MrBeast to MrPresident," another said.
"I’ll personally come to America and vote for you," a third expressed as another pointed out, "The funny thing is there is a starting age to run for president 35, but there is no upper age limit for the U.S. presidency."
One X user asked, "Would you still make YouTube videos if you were president?" to which MrBeast replied, "I’d probably focus on running the largest economy on earth."
Could MrBeast Be A Better Option Than Donald Trump Or Joe Biden?
Last month, Trump and Biden faced off in their first debate for the upcoming presidential election, where they argued various topics, including abortion, the economy, and golf. After seeing the event, Americans concluded that they "are doomed."
"We’re DOOMED," one American expressed on social media after watching, per our previous coverage. Another asked, "Whose idea was it for them to start this thing at 9 pm for two people 75+?"
A third mocked the 78-year-old and the 81-year-old, expressing, "Like two kids sitting in class pretending to be busy so they don’t get called on by the teacher because they don’t know the answer."
YouTuber Secures A Deal With Amazon For A Competitive Reality Show
While the YouTuber may not be running for President due to the law, he recently secured a deal with Amazon to launch his own reality competition show. "Beast Games" is set to debut on Prime Video and promises "over 1,000 contestants, $5,000,000 prize, and many other world records," according to MrBeast.
According to CNN, the 26-year-old appeared on the podcast "The Colin and Samir Show," where he described the upcoming project as "the largest game show ever."
“MrBeast has captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world,” Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement, per the news outlet. “We are excited to work with Jimmy and his talented team to bring his brilliant, high production, and stakes-raising concepts to 'Beast Games' for our global customers to experience.”
MrBeast Is 'Not Just Gonna Stand By And Do Nothing'
On Friday, the YouTuber announced a new initiative to build and give away 100 houses to families in need.
"When we help people (such as funding cataract surgery for 1,000 people, building 100 houses, 100 wells, etc.), people get mad and say I shouldn't be doing this and governments should," he said, per Yahoo. "Yes, ideally, a YouTuber isn't the one fixing these issues, but I'm not just going to stand by and do nothing."
The 26-year-old later dedicated himself to giving away all his money before his death. "I'll use my money to help people and I promise to give away all my money before I die. Every single penny," he said, per the outlet.
In the past, MrBeast has given away $10,000 to a homeless person and has funded cataract surgery for 1,000 people.
