Rapper T.I. and his wife Tiny are battling to have an assault lawsuit filed by an Air Force member thrown out of court.
The rap artist — real name Clifford Harris — and his wife — real name Tameka Dianne Cottle-Harris — are no strangers to controversy.
In 2022, they faced a hefty lawsuit from a former landlord. Now, they are back in the legal spotlight, but this time, it is a fight against an Air Force member accusing them of assault.
T.I., known for sharing details of his lavish lifestyle, finds himself entangled in multiple legal issues, each casting a spotlight on his high-profile lifestyle.
Rapper T.I. And Tiny Claim Statute Of Limitations Expired
In January, a woman under an assumed name, Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit against the popular couple. She accused them of sexual battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from an alleged 2005 incident.
Doe claimed the assault took place in a Los Angeles hotel room when she was a 22-year-old member of the Air Force. However, T.I. and Tiny strongly denied these allegations and requested the court to dismiss the lawsuit.
Court documents revealed the couple's argument that the claims are "time-barred" due to the statute of limitations having expired over sixteen years ago. In their motion, obtained by In Touch, T.I. and Tiny's lawyer stated:
"The facts as alleged, reflect that [Doe] voluntarily and consciously participated in the encounter up to the point when she said 'no' and removed herself from the bed with Defendants, who honored her expressed desire to leave the encounter, go to the bathroom, sit on a couch until the morning, and then leave."
As the judge has yet to rule on the matter, T.I. and Tiny await the court's decision on their request to dismiss the case entirely.
The Plaintiff Detailed Alleged Assault In Lawsuit
The lawsuit against T.I. and Tiny details the alleged 2005 incident that began at a club where she met the couple. According to the plaintiff, Tiny offered her a drink, and shortly after, T.I. invited her to join them at a hotel, excluding her friend.
Once at the hotel, the accuser claimed T.I. gave orders and "instruction for how the remainder of the night was going to go." She alleged that after getting into the shower together, she felt dizzy and lightheaded, suspecting she had been drugged.
Feeling sick, the plaintiff ran to the bathroom to vomit, finally convinced "she was drugged by Tiny and T.I. with the drink Tiny handed her while still at the club for the purpose of sexually assaulting and battering her."
According to her lawyer, "The Plaintiff did not consent to any of the sexual assault or misconduct and did not have the capacity to consent after being drugged by Defendants."
She claimed to suffer "severe emotional, physical, and psychological injury, including humiliation, shame, guilt, economic loss, economic capacity, and permanent emotional distress," and is seeking unspecified damages.
Rapper T.I. Faced Legal Battle Over Damages To Rented Los Angeles Home
This is not the first time T.I. has faced legal troubles related to violence. In 2022, the rapper was sued by former landlord Farzin Fazeli for extensive damages to a rental property in Los Angeles.
The Blast reported that Fazeli filed a lawsuit claiming the 43-year-old left the Encino home with over $100,000 in damages. The lawsuit stated that T.I. rented the property for $25,000 per month, with a $50,000 security deposit, starting on July 11, 2020.
When the actor left on August 31, 2022, Fazeli assessed the damages and found the property was damaged to the tune of $127,182.65. According to the filing, "After deducting the $50,000 security deposit, the total outstanding damage is $77,182.65."
The lawsuit claimed these damages resulted from numerous unauthorized alterations to the property, with agreements to restore it to its original condition.
The 'Live Your Life' Artist Flaunted Massive Custom Bed
Before T.I.'s legal troubles over the L.A. rental property, he showcased his extravagant taste by revealing a photo of his colossal custom-made bed.
At the time, The Blast observed that the TV personality took to Instagram to share an impressive picture of himself lounging in the enormous bed, sipping tea.
T.I. claimed in the caption alongside the image that he spent over a year designing and constructing it. In his words:
"I just had to Huncho? Been working on this all year. Custom God-size bed? ?designed & built from scratch by ??♂️& the team... ( wife Tameka) & my vision followed by their flawless execution...Lead us to #HarrisFamilyHomeDecor."
The post was a playful response to Migos' star Quavo, who had previously shown off his own giant bed on Instagram.

Not stopping at a custom bed, T.I.also splurged on a nearly $4 million mansion in Georgia. The rapper's estate features seven bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and 14,000 square feet of living space.
