Katy Perry In Glitter U.S. Flag Swimsuit Is 'The American Dream'

Katy Perry has joined the list of celebrities marking the Fourth of July on Instagram this year. Posting for her 206 million followers on Thursday, the 39-year-old pop star stunned with a confident display as she stripped to a sparkly, star-spangled swimsuit, going itty-bitty and flexing her bulging bicep just as the lens snapped her. Going viral within minutes, Katy wound up with every media outlet around covering her patriotic display, one also highlighting her recent weight loss. Flashing her cleavage and trim abs, Katy dedicated her post to Independence Day, but not without a mention of her new "Woman's World" single.

Teasing fans with her cleavage as she braved a low neckline, the mom of one put her defined ab muscles and toned hips on show, teaming her diamante-strap bathing suit with a pair of blue jeans.

With her swimsuit's blues and red-and-white star prints, Katy Perry was making a case for the star-spangled swimwear trend, one this year also donned by stars including rapper Chanel West Coast and model Carmen Electra. Rocking a red and white headscarf and with a curled lock framing her face, Katy nailed the American bombshell vibe, completing her look with a popping red lip and diamond earrings. She even used one of her manicured hands to ping out the lower band of her swimwear.

Referencing lyrics from one of her old tracks, Perry wrote: "BB UR A FIREWORK  and speaking of work, WOMAN’S WORLD IS GOING TO WORK IN ONE WEEK HAPPY 4TH." Quick to reply was 52-year-old Electra, who wrote: "The American dream."

Katy's headline-making has also included her recent appearance on the Vogue: World Runway in Paris, France. Dropping jaws in a brazen, open fur coat with nothing worn beneath last month, the "Roar" hitmaker fronted media outlets for her bare-chested display, one very much risking a wardrobe malfunction. The look, celebrating designer Balenciaga, raised eyebrows on account of the label's 2022 controversy, but it nonetheless earned Katy Perry over 700,000 Instagram likes.

In an unusual fashion display coming not long after her Balenciaga appearance, Katy modeled a head-turning dress with a long train covered in lyrics from her new track.

“She’s a winner, champion/ Superhuman, number one/ She’s a sister, she’s mother,” the fabrics read, continuing: “Open your eyes, just look around and you’ll discover/ You know/ It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it.” The video's caption offered a more in-depth look at the empowering lyrics.
