Randi Martin Talks About The Stress Of Being The Mother Of An NFL Star
On a recent episode of "The Mom Game Podcast," Martin shared that being the mother of a high-profile three-time Super Bowl champion has brought her significant stress, often leading her to tears.
"As much as I say that we're blessed and Patrick's living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life," she shared. "It's been really hard to juggle … I've cried a lot. I've struggled with it."
The 48-year-old also expressed feelings of envy towards her friends and their children, who enjoy more "normal" lives.
"We just want to be normal and go and have dinner and we don't do that," she said, per Page Six. "My daughter [Mia] and I, living in our town, we rarely go."
Martin, who lives in Texas with her 12-year-old daughter Mia from a previous relationship, also has two sons, 28-year-old Patrick and 24-year-old Jackson, with her ex-husband Pat Mahomes.

Jackson was charged with aggravated sexual battery following an incident with the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Kansas. In March, the 24-year-old pleaded no contest to a simple battery charge and was sentenced to six months of probation.
"It's one day at a time," Martin said about their situation. "I've cried myself to sleep reading some of the things I know my kids see... I've kept my close friends close... it's really been hard."

Martin mentioned she's a big fan of the block button, having blocked "thousands" of people to protect her two youngest children.
She emphasized that she doesn't blame Patrick for the downsides of fame, acknowledging his hard work and incredible career. "But I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy," she added.
Martin noted that she and Brittany, Patrick's wife, keep him grounded, and she expressed pride in the father he has become.
"They take priority over everything else," she said of Sterling and Bronze, Patrick's children.
She also shared how Patrick visited her in Texas for Mother's Day, ensuring he stayed until his kids were asleep before returning to Kansas City the next day.
"I hear him say things like, 'If the game takes away from my kids, I may not play as long as Tom Brady,'" she said, noting that comments like that make her "proud."
Randi Martin Reflects On Early Motherhood And Raising Patrick Mahomes
In an interview with People Magazine, Martin reflected on raising the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback.
"Patrick is my first child, and I grew up with him basically," she shared. "I had him at a young age, and I don't go out saying that's the best thing to do, but it was the best thing for me just because it made me grow up."
She recounted feeling aimless before discovering she was pregnant with Patrick in 1995 at age 20.
"Sometimes, I look back, and I'm like, 'Where would I be if I didn't have him?' Because I wasn't going down a bad road, I just wasn't going on a road," she explained.
Martin added that after high school, she moved out of her parents' house and spent several years "kind of living on friends' couches."
However, having Patrick transformed her into "a whole new person." She likened the change to "flipping a coin."
