Marlon Wayans is no stranger to cracking jokes about his life; however, having his home invaded is not a laughing matter. The scary part is that the burglars ransacked the over $5 million property under his brother's nose.
Marlon Wayans joins the growing list of celebrities whose Los Angeles homes have been burglarized in recent times.
Marlon Wayans' Encino Home Raided By Thieves
According to law enforcement sources, the home invasion occurred last Saturday around 2:30 a.m. when Marlon wasn't home. Two bold thieves broke into his Encino property through the backyard, shattered a back window, and accessed the house.
Marlon's older brother, Keenen Ivory Wayans, was reportedly awakened by some noise, presumably the sound of glass shattering. However, he dismissed it as nothing and went back to sleep.
The burglars must have been as quiet as mice as they successfully ransacked the house without disrupting Keenen's sleep. According to TMZ, the 66-year-old remained oblivious to what happened until Marlon's staff returned to the property around 8:00 a.m.
Marlon's Older Brother Was Shocked By The Incident
Sources revealed Keenen was shocked to discover that thieves had ransacked his brother's house under his nose, making away with a safe and several thousand dollars in cash.
Although authorities have begun investigating the robbery, the "In Living Color" alum won't be much help, given he was asleep during the incident. Instead, cops are reportedly searching the L.A area for any video footage.
It is unclear how the investigation is going, but no arrests have occurred. Los Angeles has become a dangerous area for celebrities, with robberies happening at an alarming rate.
Last month saw the homes of two NBA stars getting burglarized. The victims were former basketball player Patrick Patterson and Utah Jazz's shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker.

The unfortunate robbery comes two years after Marlon made waves for buying an impressive farmhouse in Encino, a Los Angeles neighborhood. Given the property's lavish details, he reportedly purchased the 5,000-square-foot home for $5.3 million, a steal at the time.
The five-bedroom home features five full bathrooms and two half baths, and it has an ample, open-concept living space visible from the glass pivot front door framed by a stylish double-sized doorway.
The dining area has built-in cabinetry that leads to a wet bar with a spacious built-in storage room for glassware and beverage bottles.
The sitting room is on the opposite side of the bar, flaunting a floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace. Its sliding glass doors open to the beautiful backyard.
The outdoor space features another dining area, pool, spa, fire pit, and a guest house that could be transformed into a home gym. If Marlon had guests over, he could also shoot hoops with the boys on the property's half-size basketball court, per Architectural Digest.
The Comedian Embroiled In Custody Battle Over A Secret Daughter

Four months before his home drama, The Blast reported that Marlon was engaged in a custody battle for a secret 1-year-old daughter. He addressed the matter after the child's mother, Brittany Moreland, slammed him with a petition for a massive child support bill.
During a March appearance on "The Shade Room," the 51-year-old shared his side of the story. He clarified that he wasn't hiding his daughter, Axl, from the world but protecting her, saying:
"All love, all God. The baby isn't a secret. The mama has been posted. But I chose to keep the baby's private life private. Ain't nobody's business. Social media is toxic and dangerous, and I'd like to keep her peace."
When asked about Moreland's petition to get over $21k in child support, the "White Chicks" star said that even if he could push for a reduction, he would rather "remain in love and light." However, the same did not apply to the custodial battle.

Despite asking for a hefty child support fee, Moreland also wanted full custody of her daughter, a move Marlon found ridiculous as the child's primary caretaker. In his words:
"Do you pay all that money per month and be called a 'visitor?' Do the math. This is delusional. I will let the lawyers and God do what they do. I'll be creating art from a broken heart. I got nothing but love."
Marlon also slammed Moreland as "entitled" for wanting more than the $18k that he had been paying monthly for their daughter's well-being as "a good, loving, responsible father."
Naturally, the news got fans talking on social media, with many taking the comedian's side. One comment read, "Marlon is unproblematic. He clearly said that he's handling list responsibilities and will not be reduced to a visitor. He is a father. Can't be mad at that."
