Surprisingly, she confessed to avoiding her own Netflix comedy due to the discomfort of seeing herself struggle on screen. "I gained 40 pounds because of inactivity and medications. I didn't look like myself, and I didn't feel like myself," she revealed.
Despite these challenges, Applegate eventually braved watching her own show alone, admitting she had to pause during emotional moments.
As she revisited her work with a fresh perspective, she found herself distancing "from my own ego and realized what a beautiful piece of television it was. All the scenes I wasn't in were so much fun to see and experience for the very first time."

In a heartfelt episode of her podcast "MeSsy," Applegate opened up about Sadie's diagnosis of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) per The Blast.
The 13-year-old bravely shared her experience, revealing, "When I stand up, I get really, really dizzy, and my legs get really weak, and I feel like I'm going to pass out."
In response, the doting mother expressed with emotion, "I hate it for you, my darling. I really hate it for you." Applegate also reassured Sadie, stating:
"I'm sad. But I love you, and I know you're going to be OK. And I'm here for you, and I believe you."
The actress-turned-podcast host then thanked her daughter for shedding light on POTS and raising awareness about the condition.
