You Won't Believe Who Nicki Minaj's Favorite Artist Is!

American-Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj is undoubtedly one of the most successful rappers in the music industry.

The "TROLLZ" rapper has numerous hits to her name, and while she has been dominating the music scenes, it turns out her favorite artist does not rap. Spoiler alert! The artist makes music under the New-Age music category.

In a 2018 interview with Stephen Colbert, Minaj disclosed that her favorite artist is Irish singer Enya. She continued that most people think she's making a joke when she says so but that the singer is genuinely her favorite as she listens to her more than others.

The 38-year-old explained that Enya's vocal prowess and range of harmonies gave her ideas for her records, and she is inspired by the artist whenever she sings on her records. She continued that Enya's melodies are so peaceful and help her with harmonies.

She then added that she is a rapper, not a singer, and does not like to call singers to do the harmonies in the background when she is in the studio. However, in those moments, she taps into her "inner Enya" to start the harmonies.

Minaj also shared that she would love to meet Enya in the future, even though the singer is a recluse.

During an interview with Joe Budden, Minaj disclosed who her top five rappers were. Unsurprisingly, Lil Wayne, the artist who initially signed her, made the top of the favorite's list.

She continued the list pileup and added Jay Z and Biggie. She explained that she likes rappers and singers based on their skills and not by how famous they are as she understands the hard work that goes into writing consistent rap lyrics.

The rapper and actress shared that Lil Wayne will always be at the top of her list. Minaj also noted her animosity towards Rick Ross, who signed her ex-fiance Meek Mill to his record label, "Maybach Music Group."

She pretended to reach and asked that Ross's name not be brought up.

She shared that "anybody that name-drops a female to sell 250 albums" should not be brought to her attention.

In 2017, Ross made several revelations on his ninth studio album, "Rather You Than Me," as he addressed Mill and Minaj's lousy relationship.

On the "Apple of My Eye" song featuring Raphael Saadiq, Ross rapped that he told Mill not to trust Minaj, he sang, "instead of beefing with your dog, you just give 'em some distance / We all make mistakes, let's not be too "specific."

Minaj and Mill were together for two years before ending their engagement in January 2017 when rumors of infidelity plagued the breakup.

In an interview with Joe Budden on "Queen's radio," Minaj shared that the idea of name-dropping another artist to drive sales for an album is a despicable act in the rap world.
