What Happens When A Royal Dies?
Are there plans put in place in the events of the Prince’s death? Here are some of the rules surrounding the demise of a royal.
As with the previous death of other royal family members in modern times, “BBC” will be the outlet used to break the demise of a royal, officially as soon as it happens.
For his funeral arrangement, Prince Philips had demanded no fuss at his funeral despite being entitled to a full royal funeral as the Queen’s husband. In the case of his death, the funeral will be held at Westminster Hall.
Choosing A Resting Place
As royal deaths are few and far between, no official arrangement has been made, although “The Times” reported that the Hall is always on six-hour notice to prepare for a funeral. The process has, however, been shifted as the senior royal demanded a less pompous ceremony.
In the event of his death, Prince Philips’s final resting place will be at St. James’ Palace, where Princess Diana was buried after her untimely death.
According to “BBC,” Prince Philips was rushed on Tuesday to the King Edward VII Hospital in London as “a precautionary measure.”
A Precautionary Check-Up
The reports claimed that although the Prince’s symptoms were not COVID-19 related, nevertheless, the senior royal would stay admitted for a few days while he recovers, and tests will be carried out to point out the cause of his ailment.
The publication also shared that the royal entered the hospital without support from aides, a good sign that his condition may not be as severe as purported by some people.
The 99-year-old royal was in December 2019, admitted to the same hospital for “precautionary measure” from which he fully recovered.
Close Calls
In January 2019, the senior royal was involved in a car accident while driving near the Sandringham estate. The car had flipped over and hit another vehicle with two women and a baby boy inside.
After the crash, the Duke of Edinburgh surrendered his driver’s license, and it was revealed later that he would face no charge for the impact.
The woman in the other car sustained minor injuries, but the baby was unharmed. In 2018, the Prince got a hip replacement surgery and spent eleven days in the hospital.
