Dua Lipa's Sheer White Dress 'Inappropriate For A Wedding'

Dua Lipa looked glamorous and stylish as she rocked the sheer trend in a sheer white gown to attend a high-profile wedding in 2022. In August of that year, the British singer showed up to fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus' wedding, and her look made instant headlines. Joining the Selena Gomez-adored designer's nuptials as he married Marco Maestri, Dua channeled the bridal theme in all-white, but her see-through look raised eyebrows. When The Daily Mail published photos of the "Training Season" hitmaker's outfit, over 800 fans commented. The most-upvoted remark deemed the look "inappropriate for a wedding."

Flashing her slim waistline and killer legs as she rocked shrug-style sleeves, the Grammy winner kept safe with white undies beneath her gown, but she was still showing plenty of skin.

Sticking to the white theme, Dua Lipa added in flower-shaped, white earrings as she sported her dark locks down, also wearing strappy heeled sandals in white. She broke the palette only via her black purse as she also showed off her many tattoos.

Though not an ambassador for Jacquemus, Dua has strong ties to the brand and recently attended its high-profile Fashion Show. While fashionistas gushed over the 28-year-old's style, viewers on The Daily Mail proved decidedly unimpressed. "Inappropriate for a wedding" was a comment gaining over 2,000 likes. "How disrespectful to go basically naked to a wedding. Not a good look," another wrote. A third user agreed, stating: "She is a beautiful woman but that dress is not what you wear for a wedding."

Dua had likewise embraced her love of the see-through trend last summer as she attended the Barbie movie premiere. This time rocking a silver, chain mail dress, the star left nothing to the imagination as she went braless, also showing some cheek as she flashed a thong pair of underpants.

“I’ve never really wanted to put myself in a box and say, This is my style and these are my style staples. I love to experiment and play around,” Dua told Refinery29. “It’s kind of like music: The sound doesn’t just include the face of the artist. And the artist should wear the clothes, not the other way around. Fashion can’t be forced.”

Dua Lipa, whose net worth sits at $35 million, earns cash from her music, but also from her endorsements. Alongside fronting YSL's LIBRE scent, she's a Versace ambassador.
