Teen's Birthday Surprise Turns Into 'Dream' With Childish Gambino

One big birthday surprise turned into another big surprise for a teen who loves Chipotle and Childish Gambino.

A few weeks ago when Kamilah was celebrating her birthday, she was met with some surprises from her family. After getting to the big surprise present, the events that unfolded after seemed like a "dream."

A TikTok video of the big moment grabbed the attention of singer Childish Gambino who not only shared the video but also offered some more presents for Kamilah.

Kamilah's mom, Erica shared the moment her daughter opened her birthday presents on TikTok. She never imagined that things would go the way they did.

The video shows Kamilah opening up a bunch of gifts in Chipotle bags and containers.

"Kamilah only asked for Chipotle for her birthday because her and her siblings all have birthdays in the same week. She's so considerate and known how financially taxing that can be on us," Erica told The Blast exclusively. "I wanted to make sure she got that and so much more because she deserves it."

As Kamilah opens up each bag and container thinking there's Chipotle in it, she pulls out some unexpected gifts.

"I am always trying to find creative and fun ways to make memories for my children. They only get one childhood so that's important to me," Erica explained.

"I came up with the gift ideas on my own. I was going to buy her some of her faves anyway so I thought why not pack them in Chipotle bags so that she's even more surprised. I decided it would be even more cool to stick with the burrito/taco theme when picking out her gifts and it all worked out perfectly."

She first got a Chipotle bouquet that her mom personally made. She then pulled some "avocado stuff" out of a Chipotle bag with a smile on her face, even though she was looking for food. Erica said, "Tricked you."

Kamilah then opened another Chipotle bag full of gifts, which included a burrito blanket, keeping with the theme. And while she appears to be super happy about all her gifts, she hasn't gotten to the big surprise yet.

Although Kamilah only asked for Chipotle for her birthday, she talked about Childish Gambino concert tickets for a while.

"She had been asking about the tickets since Childish Gambino announced his tour and it was definitely her big wish to go," Erica told The Blast. "Kamilah has been listening to him since she was a toddler because we would play '3005' on repeat when it first came out. So I figured the tickets would make the ultimate birthday gift."

When Kamilah opened up the Chipotle container with the tickets in it, she immediately began screaming and jumping up and down. Her excitement couldn't be denied!

Not long after sharing the video on TikTok, Kamilah got notifications that her friends were tagging her in a video. Erica then checked her DM and that's when the next phase of Kamilah's birthday surprises began.

Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, shared Kamilah's birthday surprise video and added to it.

"That's really wholesome. That's great," he said in his TikTok video. "I'll have my assistant reach out. If you guys want a copy of the new project a little early, we can do that. But also, when we're in town, when we're in the city, if you and your daughter and your family want to come backstage and get some stuff signed, we can do that, too. But I hope you're having a good day."

Glover's video captioned, "See you at the show," received more than 3.6 million views and thousands of positive comments.

"You are so effortlessly humble and a kind human. Huge reason I love this man," one viewer wrote in the comment section. Another added, "Dreams were made here. Donald, you're a special kinda dude."

When Erica got a DM from Glover's assistant, they all "screamed."

"We just couldn't believe that he actually saw the video," Erica said. "We are still shocked."

The concert is on August 30, and to say the family is ready for it may be an understatement. They still can't believe that all of this has happened.

"I never thought in a million years that something this cool could happen. I just wanted to share her special day with our TikTok and IG family, as we usually do," Erica shared. "This feels like a dream."

Kamilah also shared her POV with The Blast.

"I only asked my parents for Chipotle because I know it's a lot on them to get me and all my siblings gifts in one week. I didn't expect to get all the gifts I got, especially the Childish Gambino tickets," Kamilah shared. "I was so surprised and excited because I'd been talking about the tour to my friends and family since it was announced. I didn't think I would actually get to go though."

Kamilah also shared that she's been a "huge fan" of his music "forever" and always wanted to get the opportunity to see him live in concert. And now, not only will she get to see his show, but she will also get the chance to meet him backstage.

Kamilah recalls the moment she learned that Glover saw her video.

"When my mom posted that video, I didn't think Childish Gambino or his team would ever see it. So when a bunch of my friends started texting me all at once about his video, I thought they were trying to prank me or something," she said.

"His response is like a dream come true. I would never think that Childish Gambino would know I exist, let alone invite us backstage at his concert. His music has been with me at all stages of my life, so I'm excited and grateful for this opportunity."
