Wynonna Judd's daughter, Grace Kelley, may want to change her wardrobe following her indecent exposure arrest.
The "I Saw the Light" hitmaker's ward was sentenced to 60 days behind bars for crimes related to her explicit dressing. However, she secured an early release from jail a month after a run-in with authorities.
Wynonna Judd is the mother of two children, but her daughter frequently makes headlines for breaking the law.
Wynonna Judd's Daughter Has Been Released From Jail
According to new reports, Kelley officially became a free woman on May 23. A month after her April 25 sentencing, she was granted an early release from the Elmore County Jail on an Alabama judge's orders.
Although she was expected to spend an additional 39 days behind bars, Judd's daughter was given credit for time served. Her legal woes began on April 5 when she was arrested and initially charged with severe crimes.
Her charges included soliciting prostitution, indecent exposure, and obstructing government operations. However, In Touch confirmed the prostitution charge was dropped entirely, and the indecent exposure charge was converted to a public lewdness charge.
The Country Music Star's Daughter Was Reportedly 'Begging For Money'
Besides her early release from prison, Kelley was ordered to pay $1,122 in fines and other fees. This bill should not be a problem for the country music singer's daughter; however, police reports implied she had financial difficulties.
According to the arresting officers, Kelley was "begging for money" near a Walmart, holding a sign that read "Ride 4 a Ride." She allegedly became "agitated" when they approached her, claiming "it was not illegal to trade her body for a ride."
"She was told to leave the area and stop asking for money/rides," the report continued, noting that officers received another disturbing call about Kelley's behavior, and they tracked her down. The cop claimed in the report:
"She was dressed inappropriately, with a short skirt, cut up the front, a pink bra with her bare breasts exposed, the skirt was cut up to the crotch in several areas, and her pink panties were pulled into her bottom and v—– as if a thong, which exposed her groin to the public."
Kelley Allegedly Refused To Cooperate With Officers
In the report, the officer stressed that Kelley "refused to cooperate," leading to him placing her under arrest. However, trying to get her in handcuffs only sparked her desire to resist authority.
"She sat down on the roadside edge and refused to cooperate," the cop continued, claiming Kelley was similarly "unruly" during booking and had to be transported to Elmore County jail without being fully processed due to her behavior.
Despite the chaotic picture law enforcers painted, Kelley claimed she did nothing wrong during her encounter with cops. Instead, she accused authorities of targeting her for having a famous mother.
Wynonna Judd's Daughter Slams Her Indecent Exposure Arrest
During her time behind bars, Kelley noted in an interview that she believed Judd had "blocked" her number. She claimed the singer suspected she was on drugs; however, she passed the jail's standard drug test.
"I'm not on drugs. My mom won't listen to me; she won't believe me. She thinks I'm out here doing crazy sh–t," Kelley lamented before slamming officers from the indecent exposure charge. In her words:
"I was wearing a bra, ok? On top of my bra, I had on a sports bra. On top of that, I had on a T-shirt. There are women that go jogging every morning in just sports bras."
She added, "On my bottoms, I was wearing a skirt, and I had panties on, not a thong, actual underwear. No nipple was shown. No vagina was shown. Nothing was exposed."
Kelley Claims Her Mother's Fame Can Be A 'Blessing Or A Curse'
Kelley doubled down that she did nothing wrong, stressing that she complied with the officer's instructions during her arrest. However, she believed cops targeted her because of her mother's fame. She said:
"Cause of who my family is, it's either a blessing or a curse. It's almost like they're trying to throw the book at me. It's like, 'Let me do everything I can to make your life hell.'"
As stated, this isn't Kelley's first rodeo with cops, as she has a history of legal troubles. As reported by The Blast, Judd's daughter was arrested in 2017 for charges related to methamphetamine.
Despite being granted parole in April 2021, her run-ins with the law continued, leading to her arrest in August for violating her parole.
After a stint in prison, she was released in December 2022 before facing another arrest in May 2023 for violating her parole and a restraining order.
