A video of Angel's recent appearance on the "Squeeze" podcast was shared on YouTube, capturing her emotional recollection of Aaron's mental health struggles and addictions. She recalled her concern for his well-being heightened in the summer of 2019.

At the time, Aaron allegedly suffered from bipolar and schizophrenia disorders, with his condition leading to a psychosis episode where he told Angel about his thoughts of killing babies and how he had accumulated several guns within a week.

Angel, who was a new mom to daughter Harper Noelle Conrad, wasted no time in joining forces with her older brother, Nick, to stop Aaron from doing the unthinkable. The duo filed a restraining order against him, resulting in the court seizing the late singer's guns.

Angel Carter Tried To Save Aaron From His Addictions

The mother of one dedicated years of her life to save her twin brother from his addictions; however, she claimed Aaron often ignored her attempts to help him. "I couldn't save him. It wasn't my responsibility to save him, but I tried," she lamented.

Looking back on what sparked Aaron's problems, Angel explained that her brother was the "breadwinner" of their family. However, that responsibility was a significant burden for a child to handle, and he began experimenting with marijuana at 12.

Things worsened with their parents' 2003 divorce as Aaron blamed himself for the split, with Angel noting, "He thought that the success destroyed the family." Unfortunately, the aftermath saw the singer dabbling in "hard" drugs.

Aaron's Twin Was Prepared For His Death

During the interview, Angel dropped a shocking bombshell about her twin brother's death. She confessed that she had prepared for Aaron's final moments, noting that because her focus was on him, she never expected her sister, Leslie, to die from an overdose in 2012.

"What's so interesting about Leslie's passing — she passed away when I was 23 — her death completely blindsided me. I didn't see that one coming," Angel confessed, adding:

"When she died, I was already in therapy preparing for Aaron's death. I thought he was going to die. I feared it my entire 20s. I knew this day was going to come, and I think he knew it too."

Angel Claims Her Family Has A ‘Generational Dysfunction Issue’

This isn't the first time Angel has addressed Aaron's death, as The Blast reported that she opened up about the tragic loss of her siblings in a candid interview. During an appearance on "CBS Mornings" in April, the 36-year-old said:

"There's certainly a generational dysfunction issue here that comes along with it, but as far as growing up, there was a time where we were a really close family. There was a lot of love. But there was a lot of chaos going on at the same time."

Angel claimed the Carter heads failed to provide their children with stability, alleging, "My parents were just fighting all the time—just dysfunction in the home. No boundaries. No stability. No one to talk to."

According to Angel, the dynamic at home worsened when her older brother found fame as a member of the singing group Backstreet Boys. Aaron followed in his footsteps to become a teen pop singer, changing the lives of the Carter clan.

"We were a family that had no money. We were from upstate New York. My parents were poor. And they had never seen anything like this before," Angel recalled, adding:

"Once the money started coming in, it just changed the dynamic because money became the moving force."

So far, three Carter siblings have died from drug-related incidents. Leslie died from an overdose, followed by Aaron, due to the effects of alprazolam and difluoroethane.

Lastly, Bobbi Jean passed away from intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine in 2023.
