"Love & Listings" star Taylor Schwartz knows what it takes to make it in the cutthroat world of luxury real estate. Not only has the 23-year-old already risen to the ranks of a broker in charge of multi-million dollar deals, but she has also done it while overcoming the systemic hurdles in her way.
In honor of Black History Month, the VH1 star is taking a moment to reflect on her journey in the hopes of aspiring other Black women to achieve their own goals and aspirations.

Taylor Schwartz was born in Palmdale, California. As a biracial woman, growing up without her mother around during childhood due to substance abuse, Schwartz had to overcome a lot of adversity while navigating her identity and her womanhood under a single-parent household.
Schwartz tells The Blast she was destined for bigger things and with dreams of being a star, she moved to Hollywood, California at the age of 18, where she got her real estate salesperson license just after graduating high school.
Schwartz was soon approached to be part of VH1’s hit real estate reality television show "Love & Listings," where she quickly became a fan-favorite. Schwartz recognizes that the extremely competitive Los Angeles real estate market is led mostly by white males who have been in the industry for decades, and she was determined to shake things up.

Taylor Schwartz eventually wanted to grow from just a real estate salesperson and went for her broker's license. Schwartz says she was able to do something that no other African American female had done at such a young age, becoming a licensed real estate broker at the age of 22. Becoming a real estate broker means that one is able to hire other real estate agents to work under them on their team. Since becoming a licensed real estate broker, Schwartz, who is currently an associate broker at Agents of LA, has continued to grow her team.

Taylor Schwartz now knows the importance of using her platform to uplift her community and hopefully inspire other black men and women to never give up on their dreams.
She also recently launched a collection of online courses focused on teaching up and coming real estate moguls the ins and outs of the business. For the month of February, we're told Schwartz is offering discounted courses for Black students.
"In honor of Black History Month, it is important to celebrate African Americans who have broken barriers and excelled in an industry where they have had to work harder than their peers to stand out and be successful," Schwartz tells The Blast.
