IMG Models at War with Adult Social Media Platform

IMG Models is preparing to take legal action against a new social media platform geared towards allowing models to utilize technology and monetize discreet interactions with their fans.

IsMyGirl is a member-based platform launched by actor/musician Evan Seinfeld and offers a "technology forward, very discrete private community that gets up and close and personal with fans."

The cutting edge platform allows models and their followers to share and view exclusive photos and videos, and touts, "private direct messaging and upgrades to premium videos, private DM videos and fully mobile Pay-Per-Minute Live Streaming."

Unfortunately, international modeling agency, IMG, who reps supermodels like Hailey Bieber, thinks IsMyGirl is causing confusion in the modeling world, so they sent a cease and desist.

According to the C&D sent on June 14, and obtained by The Blast, IMG says IsMyGirl has an "Unauthorized association with IMG Models."

The letter states, "It has come to our attention that your company is using “IMG” to refer to itself and its services, including in press interviews." They add, "We are concerned that your unauthorized use of IMG’s registered ‘IMG’ trademark, in connection with your company, its services and related website and social media - which promotes models and related content - is likely to mislead consumers into the mistaken belief that your company and/or its goods and services are associated, sponsored, endorsed or otherwise authorized by IMG and/or IMG Models."

IMG wants to make sure IsMyGirl stops using "IMG" in connection with any promotion, and promises that if they don't comply "we will consider all actions deemed necessary to protect our rights."

In response to the legal threat, Evan Seinfeld tells The Blast, "It’s funny how the 'old guard' is so concerned about what IsMyGirl is doing with our platform."

Seinfeld also claims he has been "harassed with a letter from IMG models and all their corporate lawyers. Some of my employees were harassed by people from IMG Models."

IsMyGirl featured model, and former "Bad Girls Club" star Sayyora, posted a video in response to the war decalred by IMG, and explained how IsMyGirl allows women to empower themselves.

She says the platform gives women of all shapes and sizes a "chance at making money, real recurring money where they don’t have to audition or get turned down."

Sayyora just graduated from USC and says she has been using the money she earns from IsMyGirl to attend law school. She said the platform allowed her to quit her stripping job and work out of the safety of her own home.

Seinfeld adamantly believes the harassment from IMG is akin to "cyber bullying," and thinks the modeling agency has "hang ups with empowered women who embrace their beauty and sexuality."
